SOURCE: my 1991 toyota pick ,will start but shut off ,

I would check out the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Located on top of the air filter box. If the sensor is bad and computer doesn't see air going into the engine, it will automatically keep the engine from running. Try pulling the engine trouble code to confirm is problem.

HI! The other thing that controls the fuel is the PCM (powertrain control module). The PCM is like the car's brain that when it fails everything else's fail. The PCM has connectivity on all electrical current that runs inside the car including the engine and transmission. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

SOURCE: Trouble codes indicate THW and

What was the actual trouble codes, as this relates to water temperature sensor (THW) and Throttle Position Sensor (VTA) and both systems could result in faulty or intermittent operation of the cold start injector.

Have these occurred at the same time, or were these diagnosed at different times........worst case it could be ECU related as this is common to both systems......

SOURCE: i have a 1992 toyota 4wd 3l that has been starting

Check your battery for proper volts (12.6). Sometimes the cold weather will bring a battery down. Also check the Starter Relay, again cold weather will make it stick causing it not to start. Those are the biggest problems with a car not starting in the cold weather unless you have something else going on then your starter and your ignition needs to be checked.

My toyota noah 2006 model injectors not squirting fuel what could be the problem

The cold start injector, also referred to as the cold start valve, is an engine management component found on many road going vehicles. It's purpose is to supply the engine with additional fuel to enrich the fuel mixture in cold temperatures where air density is increased and additional fuel is required. It plays a key role in the performance, fuel economy, and starting characteristics of the vehicle, so when it does have issues the problems can detract from the overall drivability of the vehicle. Usually a problematic cold start injector will display a few symptoms that can alert the driver that a potential problem has occurred and needs to be serviced. http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/162743-car-engine-1az-fse-running-rich-on-fuel

What does a cold start injector do 1991 mazda 929s

The manner of construction of cold start valve is essentially quite similar, if not absolutely, as that of any other regular fuel injector. The main positive difference is the fact that the injection time of the cold start valve is gauged at intervals of a second. This is completely unlike a regular injector which has an injection time tuned to intervals of milliseconds.

My wifes 2003 toyota highlander when she starts it there is what appears to be a gas fume like smell in the car. it seems to go away when the engine isd warm

You should have the fuel injectors and the especially the "cold start injector" checked for leaks. The cold start injector only operates during cold starts. If you don't notice the problem during warm starts, then the cold start injector is the place to start.

1990 toyota pickup engine won't start

CHECK THE COLD START INJECTOR ON THE INTAKE MANIFIOLD.
1. UNPLUG THE POWER WIRES TO THE IGNITION COIL(NOT THE HI VOLTAGE WIRE TO THE DISTRIBUTOR)
2, UN BOLT AND PULL OUT THE COLD START INJECTOR(LEAVE IT PLUGED IN TO POWER AND FUEL
3. BREIFLY CRANK OVER THE ENGINE AND WATCH THE SPRAY FROM THE TIP. (A FIRE EXTINGUSHER WOULD BE A VERY GOOD IDEA)
4. HOW DID THE SPRAY LOOK
WAS THE SPRAY QUICK, IN A FINE MIST? IF SO ITS OK AND NOT THE PROBLEM.
IF IF IT RAN ON, A STEADY STREAM OR POURED OUT THERE IS SOME THING WRONGE WITH THE COLD START INJECTOR

My toyota corolla is always hard to start whenever it is cold day?how can i fix it?

Yourr car have 4 cylinders, there are 4 injectors and 1 cold start injector. You can trace it from your Fuel distributor. Your cold start is operated by a electric valve. It has a normal close state and only open when you start the engine. Its function to inject extra fuel so you can have a rich mixture for easy start. Now it is dead so you don't have a fast start. Have it replaced then you will be happy.
