SOURCE: Picture of Sealant RTV Locations 1.8L

If you replaced the gasket, you dont need RTV sealant, be careful how tight you make those bolts. 10 INCH pounds is enough! Not foot lbs!!!

Testimonial: "Hi. Haynes says there are 5 areas on the engine edges around caps or something that require (not optional) RTV for the install not to leak. This is whether or not you use anything on the gasket itself."

2002 windstar transmission schematic

I am assuming you need a schematic for this and that you've check all of the other more common things like broken linkages, low transmission fluid, etc. Other than the wiring diagrams that are found in the Haynes or Chiltons manuals, you would have to get a service manual from a dealer. There just isn't much electrical inside a transmission though that isn't covered in the wiring diagrams found in these manuals, which can be found at your local parts store.

Replacing tension wheel on drivebelt

Click on the following free direct Link. It has the correct Serpentine/Drive Belt Diagrams for your 1998 Ford Windstar with either the 3.0L or 3.8L V6 Engine.
These have the Diagrams of the variety of Tensioners that are used. NOTE: Most of the Tensioners have three (3) bolts that mounts the Tensioner Assembly to the Engine. After removing the Belt: Remove the three (3) Bolts and remove the Tensioner.

Neutral safety switch adjustments

96 Plym. Gr. Voyager (same as Dodge) 4speed A/T can't locate neutral safety switch on drivers side front of trans. My book shows different location/picture (Haynes manual). Any ideas where to get picture/diagram for reference? Initial problem van starts normally but often only clicks when key is cycled through start cycle until it finally starts. Battery good (3 yrs and checked good), replaced ign. switch behind key tumbler assembly(NAPA Echlin part), relay at fuse block in engine area a checks OK with VOM meter, next item is neutral safety switch that also runs backup lights. I've opened area by removing air filter assembly for better view from top or under car but my switches are not in same location as Haynes book shows. Van has towing package and lockup torque convertor if that makes difference. Need source for diagram of trans exterior. Tha nks to all you helpful souls!
