There is a good chance that there may be a rusted out freeze plug leaking in behind the manifold where you can't see so well. That would explain the dripping and quick loss of coolant.

1998 ford mustang 3.8l v6 leaking cookant from bottom of engine. Not sure where. Looks like it could be from the pan right under the engine

most probably from a rusted welsh plug in the block. Have the coolant system pressure tested and watch for the leak as it is probably running down from the welsh plug and collection at the sump flange.

Water leaking beside thermostat houseing

Replace the corroded housing and you will have to replace the rusted welsh plug in the rear of the engine . If it is from inside the bell housing it means gear box out and fly wheel / flex plate off

I have just had a front wheel bearing replaced in my 2003 Ford BA sedan. Whilst attending to this the mechanic has discovered that their is an exhaust leak at the CAT coverter and the welsh plugs are...

very expensive the catalytic converter if it has holes in it if it is one hole it can be brazed and you should be fine good luck convincing a repair shop to do that for you . the welsh plug is on the motor and would be leaking radiator fluid look up welsh plug on line and it will give a more in depth answer the area where the 02 sensor goes into in known as the 02 sensor b u n g have to space out they sensor certain words on here if that is leaking that to can be brazed unless the whole pipe is rusted and that repair should last for a long time.

My mb100 van 1997 model has water leak at the back rear engine.the radiator is ok and the water there a water hose or port at the rear side of the engine?what and where is the cause? thanks, ermee

You may have a leaking core or welsh plug. This is a large disk which is used to block off the holes left behind by the casting process during manufacture. They are easy to replace but difficult to access.. It may also be a leaking hose or even a cylinder head gasket but I would suspect a welsh plug first. Take the vehicle to your local garage and get them to pressure test the cooling system, this will show up the leak a lot easier..

could be that you have a leaky welsh plug have a look under the car where the transmission meets the engine and see if you can see white residue there is a welsh plug behind the flywheel which seems to give trouble on falcons also there are 5 behind the exhaust manifold which are hard to detect if they are leaking have had this problem with mine only has 80 000 on clock

Coolent leaking

i doubt very much wether the block is cracked it is more likely to either be a heater hose may be leaking or a welsh plugs ( little round dish shaped plug ) in the side of the block i would first check all the heater hoses and the look on the side of the motor for a possible welsh plug leak i'd say its hoses tho
