Water leaking into boot

Look at the seal closely. If you see where it comes threw. I cut there with a razor blade and fill the inside with cotton. Then silicone the cut. Let it set an hour before closing the boot. If you have a brake light mounted in the boot. This is usually where a lot of water will come in. I silicone them in also. Spoiler on the boot, I remove them and silicone them down.

open the boot lid and gently run a hose on the back glass(do not allow any water to flow over the boot seal) Have some one do this while you check around the window drain area inside the boot and up in the mudguard areas checking for rust holes or cracks. Use talk powder in these areas to detect water trickles or feel with you fingers for wet areas . Check the steel lip that the seal is fixed on for rusted areas underneath it as water will get in these holes.

Boot fills with water after heavy down pour on 2001 s type sport , some times engine miss fires ,,,until i dry boot out then runs fine ,,boot seal looks ok ,how do i stop water entering the boot...

I would suggest that the rubber seals on the boot surround are in fact faulty or the boot lid is very badly aligned. (Has there been an accident repair to the boot area?)

1. Check the seals again - every inch - and check for movement as some of the rubber adhesive which glues the rubbers to the body work may have broken down.

2. You should be able to replicate the problem with your garden hose. Run the hose full bore over the upper section of the boot lid and over the rear window for a few minutes. As soon as the surface water has cleared the exterior body work open the boot and you should be able to detect where the entry point is by inspecting the edges of the boot compartment and the boot lid.

One person I know popped his wife in the boot while he ran water over the boot area to find a troublesome leak point. I would not recommend doing that.

Au Series II ford Forte, boot leaks

remove the spare tire and inspect for rust or holes to allow water to enter it ...or have a person sit inside the trunk area and use a hose starting low and going up slowly to trace the source of the leak

Seal maybe damaged on bottom roof seal and letting in water to the boot on the offside of car

The lower roof seal penetrates to the cabin rather than the boot (regardless of whether you have a soft or hard cover on)
If you're getting water into the passenger side of the boot, it's most like the boot lid seals are perished - inspect these carefully and replace them if required.
Good luck, Sherwin

Ford foucus letting water in right hand side of boot

I have the same problem and unfortunately, Ford service center did not solve it. But fortunately I solved it myself. The water is coming from the right side in my boot. I remove the plastic cover inside, right side of course, simply use a screw driver to remove the plastic lock, two or three of them. You will find an air vent, made of black plastic with rubber as the stopper. This is where the water comes in. Try to pour water in that side of your car to find out if we have exactly the same cause of problem. The water passes in the opening where your rear bumper and car body meets, and find it way through that air vent.
