Question about Cars & Trucks
When I shifted the H2 into park it did not go into park but the shifter appears to be in park. The shifter is stuck now and the truck will not start
The linkage is probably off have a friend come and check the cable on side of Trans and the middle of floorboard if ok then replace shifter assrmbly

I had the same problem and once I wiggled the shifter enough to get it out of park then the key stuck in the ignition started.

SOURCE: shifter is stuck in park
The shift cable is off the lever on the trans...the dash indicator states drive but the shifter is in park. Look under the drivers side of the trans, next to the catalytic converter(make sure the truck is cooled off) the trans cable will not be attached to the tranny lever-re-attach and you will be able to get it home or to a shop for a repair. This happened to me already, simple fix.

You can remove the interlock off the gear shift or maybe spray some crc on it otherwise probably a loose wire or switch
