SOURCE: Reverse causes fuse for instrumental cluster to blow

Yes there is a reverse light back up switch located on the side of the transmission it will be the only 2 wires going to the tranny. There might be a short in the switch itself or the power wire to switch might have a bare spot where it might be grounding out on the vehicle somewhere.

1989 chevy s10 ignition/gages fuse keeps blowing

If you think there is a problem with instrument cluster, unplug the instrument cluster, see if it still blows the fuse. Could be a wiring circuit problem, somewhere? Maybe fuse box issue?
Sometimes, I use a test light in place of the fuse, to keep from blowing all my fuses. If the test light comes on, the circuit is going to ground, somewhere. If the instrument cluster is unplugged, then hopefully, that is ruled out.

I have a 1997 cavalier z24 that is having some electrical problems. The tail lights, side marker lights, and instrument cluster lights do not work. I've already replaced the fuse, but it keeps...

you have a dead short immediately after the fuse Check wiring for rub points/ pinch points. Check all bulb sockets to ensure that the power wire is not touching earth or the earth wire.

2003 cavalier turn signal fuse

The 10A TURN-B/U fuse in the instrument panel fuse block feeds the turn/hazard flasher and the back-up lamps. There could be a short in the flasher, the turn signal/multifunction switch, or the lamps/sockets. There also could be a short in the back-up lamp circuit

I put my 87 4runner in reverse and it blows the 15A engine fuse

Hello there:
I would first refer to the owners manual to make sure that the fuse that is blowing is of the right amps also check the fuses under the hood too. than i would check to see if there is any shorts anywhere and get them fixed. You can also take the car to autozone and have the free diagnostics done on the vehical ok?
hope that htis has helped out some.
best regards mike

I have an 87 4 runner and the dash lights are flashing with the indicators and it is also lacking in power and blowing fuses under the dash can you please help me

Sounds like a bad ground, OR the wiring harness to the ignition switch / headlights switch is bad.
I just replaced mine because the interior lights kept blowing a fuse and the clock did not work.
Everything works now.
Replacement wiring harnesses/switches are available at most auto parts stores. Get a Haynes manual and a steering wheel puller to do this repair. Pretty easy & cheap repair.
Good luck :)

Where to find a fuse box on a toyota landcruiser 1987

Hi

The fuse block is located below the left side of the instrument panel on 1973-88 trucks. In addition, the radio is protected by a separate fuse located in the wire between the radio and the fuse block.

If a fuse should blow, turn off the ignition switch and also the circuit involved. Replace the fuse with one of the same amperage rating, and turn on the switches. If the new fuse immediately blows out, the circuit should be tested for shorts, broken insulation, or loose connections.

Please do rate this solution.

Thanks
Rylee
