SOURCE: my 2000 dodge durango hesitates sometimes when

I understand from the question that your car is manual? if that's being the case, I would suggest checking the clutch because if its worn out then that's why you are not getting enough force on the differential. replace the clutch if it has never been replaced is my first consideration.

A mechanic guy will tell you if the clutch is good or bad by simply testing the clutch. Let him also tell you what are the things that you need to replace in order to fix the problem. Diagnostics are free most of the times just tell them that you want to know what the problem is.

Hope that helps. let me know.

Get your codes scanned at an auto store. Have you changed the air filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, checked your transmission fluid for starters?

Dodge durango bucking hesitating while driveing

Start simple and check yourfuel relays and fuses! Next vacumes and air filter! Then spark plug wires&plugs and as I was told grounds on both starter and altenator. if that doesnt help check fuel filter and regulator then make sure the line isnt pinched! that was my last problem and didnt find out till i dropped the fuel tank!

Check engine light came on and now durango hesitates when you accelerate

This could be an ignition coil. I have had two of them go bad over the past two years. The engine idles a little rough and when accelerating it seems to 'miss' and have the get up an go it should. If you take it to your local auto zone they can meter it and tell you what cylinder. The part is under 25.00, but dependent on which one it is, it could be a pain to replace and probably should be left to your local mechanic.
