Question about Chevrolet Camaro
I have a 89 camaro with a crate 350 in it with two holly four barrels on a high rise. Every time I try and jump on it it coughs until I play with the pedal some and then it takes off. It has a mild cam and msd ignition. I have a gauge on the fuel line and a regulator and it stays right at 6 pounds. What else could it be
One possible issue is the carbs are not staged. In most cases one has to be delayed from the other depending on the configuration of the intake manifold.
Another possible issue could be not enough accel pump travel or too late. Not enough fuel coming thru the accel pump circuit on one or both carbs.
Either way, its probably too much air and not enough fuel in the mix.

Testimonial: "Thank you. I have been trying to mess with the air and fuel mixture. The staged part I am not sure on how to check that out. Every time we mess with the carberators we adjust both of them. I am thinking about taking them off and put them on a car one at a time to get them them just right."
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Have you checked the ignition timing? Maybe you need to turn the distributor to the left or right if you don't have the timing light gun

if the fuel pump is all in-tank; the sending unit built in to the fuel pump is most likely malfunctioning; if so, this will require removal and replacement of the entire fuel pump, sometimes expensive, others not so much

have oil pressure checked to see oil pump is faulty.make sure your oil is the right viscosity if too thick that will cause high pressure.if all is good.your pressure gauge is faulty.
