Question about Ford Ranger

1 Answer

Windshield washer It is a horrible winter and the windshield washer on my 92 Ranger has really low pressure, blows bubbles on one side, slight squirt on other, or just doesn't work. Checked the reservoir ice on top, I put in some rubbing alcohol as antifreeze support, washerfluid was supposed to be able to withstand -20. So, do you think it is worthwhile to just replace the pump, or clear the tube?

Has the temp warmed up enough to thaw out the lines yet ?
Could be a line froze and split.

SOURCE: Front windshield washer won't squirt

Sometimes it's as simple as clogged jets where the solution comes out. I would take a fine needle or pin and insert it into the hole where the solution comes out to see if it frees it up enough to squirt first. They sometimes get clogged with salt or dirt.

SOURCE: windshield wiper fluid will not squirt - wipers are fine but no fluid comes through

Either the pump is bad, or the nozzles are clogged.

SOURCE: windshield washer fliud does not squirt in my car

first try getting to a source of compressed air, with it regulated to a low pressure so as not to blow lines off blow into the top hole on the reservoir and force fluid thru the hoses,a lot of times the hoses or sprayers on the wipers get dirt in them and cant pass the fluid, also blow back thru the sprayers to see f this helps

Windshield washer fluid won't squirt and it is NOT empty. The WPR fuse is also good

Do you live in an area where the temp falls below freezing? If so is the fluid in your tank winter type. If not it may have frozen in the lines to the wind shield. Let me know. Thanks.

I have a 2006 gmc envoy. the driver side windshield washer doesnt squirt the washer fluid. is that an electrical problem or hose.

it is a hose problem, there is only one pump for both nozzles. there is probably just a bit of debris caught in the nozzle. disconnect the line under the hood, and blow compressed air back (reverse) through the system. may take a couple of tries but should work. good luck!

Windshield wiper fluid does not squirt out

go to a service station with an air compressor and with the air turned down to about 20 lbs blow into the washer top small hole to force fluid thru the hoses, not a lot of pressure so you blow hoses off or rupture something

i had the same problem with my sunfire and it solved itself when i put de-icer washer fluid, or it could just be a little bit of water melting in the end and it freezes up
