Question about Toyota Cars & Trucks
My rear window on my 2007 solara convertible is shattered. the window was heated glass, the model is SLE. I believe it is a canvas top, but I want to know if there is a way I can replace the glass without replacing the entire top before i have this done
Take the vehicle to an accredited windscreen repairer/ replacer and discuss the problem with them. If it can be done they will have access to the glass and will be able to tell you where to get it fitted if it requires specialist attention.

The rear window for that top is a seperate curtain.
Replacement is best left to a professional.
You should cantact an automotive trim shop (upholstery) for them to quote it.
The way it is replaced, you have to take the top loose, roll it forward, replace the window curtain, reinstall the top. Depending on the condition if the top, it may need replacement also. That is best determined by the shop that does the work.
This is not recommend as a DIY project. I worked in a trim shop for years, and they are not easy.

You lift up the bonnet ,you will see the wire coming to the back of the head light .what you have to do,you will see a plug connecting to the head light .You must unplug it,after having do it,now you will to take out an elastic cap it is with rubber and black, this for preventing water to go in the head light. After doing that you will find the bulb, the bulb is hold with a clips .You have to take out that clips, now the will be free to take it out.replace the bulb for new one,now do the same action to mount it,hope that clear your mind and fix the problem

This problem is very common and is known as delamination.
Use Urethane adhesive to reglue the window.
This same adhesive is used to install windshields.
The hard part will be to hold the window in place till the Urethane cures.
Prepare for that in advance.

This is a common problem with many cars. It is delamination. If the window is loose in spots, it can often be repaired with urethane adhesive like glass shops use for windshields. If the glass is more than 30% delaminated, chances of fixing it are slim. With the glass all the way out, you need a new top. Karl at topgunwon.com

I have the same problem. I spoke with the dealer, and he tells me that the entire top will have to be replaced. I am not sure why they cannot seal the glass back to the top, but this is what they are telling me. Personally, I am going to try to repair the window myself with the help of a local convertible top guy. There is a TSB (61 08 03 November 18 2008) shows how to replace the clips that hold the headliner to the back glass, not the problem of the glass detaching from the canvas.
