Question about 2000 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab
There are no technical service bulletins showing specific problems with that truck. Could be any number of reasons. Make sure the battery is fully charged. Check your engine oil and smell it. If it smells like fuel, you most likely have a spark problem. If it does not smell like fuel, then find the fuel pressure test port on the fuel rail and remove the cap. Next depress the pin in the center to see if fuel sprays out (wear eye protection and keep flames away). If fuel does not come out, make sure you have fuel in your tank 1st. 2nd, have someone turn the key to on position while you listen for fuel pump to turn on in the tank. It should come on for a few seconds then off. If you do not hear the fuel pump run, check the wiring and fuses. If this does not help then more in depth troubleshooting and diagnostics are required to pin point the specific problem.
