you would need to check the fuel injector next to see if its delivering fuel to that cylinder. if injector is good the next step is check the wiring to the ignition coil making sure it doesn't have rodent damage. after that remove the spark plug to check its condition and finally do a compression test and compare compression of cyl3 to all other cylinders.

Hi, hope by now you have solved your problem, but if not...
Firstly, the non spark on 2 and 3 makes sense, (presuming your car has a single coilpack, not four), as the pack fires in pairs, not individually, (one spark being so called "wasted")
Presuming that you haven't obtained a faulty coilpack( it has happened) the next step is to check the plug feeding the coilpack very carefully.
Two reasons for this are 1 wiring is getting thinner each year (costs), and these connectors can fail, and 2 the next step can be costly.
The coilpack is triggered usually by two outputs on the ECU, (one for each pair of coils in the pack) if one output failed it will affect two cylinders, usually 1 and 4, or 2 and 3, (see where im going?).
Ok, so here's the painfull bit, to diagnose the problem specifically, u will have to take it to a proper technition with the correct gear (not a bloke with a halfords scanner) that will cost, if it IS a faulty ECU, that will be more costly.
An ECU is usually paired with the car immobiliser and is specific to that one car, so you cant use one from a scrapyard without changing the ignition, key and immobiliser sensors, but they are repairable, not cheap, but definitly repairable.
Like I said at the beginning, i hope you dont need this and your repair was easy and cheap, but if its of any help, you're welcome, H

No spark! replaced the crank position sensor, plugs, wires, ignition control modual. had the coil packs checked all ok.

This sounds like a bad computer, if your sure the coilpacks are good and you replaced the module and the new module is good and the wiring to the module is good then i would say the wiring to computer or bad computer, this module and coils are hidden in the rear of the motor and go bad often but if say there all good then my next step would be the computer,

Are there any other possible problems, or you are just not receiving spark at all now?

The coilpack could be dead and just need replaced. If you have a voltmeter or a test light, check the wiring on both sides of the coilpack harness to make sure it is receiving power.
I don't believe Subaru used ignitors past '99, but if they did, your should be located on the firewall behind the throttle body. Make sure it's plugged in and receiving power.

Coil packs do go bad from time to time. I had to replace mine in my
'98 Impreza a while back.

check the ECM fuse and the fuse to the ignition itself you have either a broken wire going from the main fuse box to the coil or a faulty ignition switch

Where are the spark plugs on a 2003 Saturn Vue 2.2 liter?

they are under the coilpack/ignition module..disconnect the wiring plug on the right side and remove the 4 10mm bolt thats hold the coilpack to valve cover and pull up fairly hard on it as the boots get stuck in the head and then the spark plugs are under there,,,they are 100k spark plugs like $14 a piece and do yourself a favor do not put in bosch platinum plgs they give these saturns tons of problems

I have a 1993 ford escort and i hooked the battery up backwards and now it won't start i have no spark i've replace the computer & coilpack

its your ignition module, this will fix your problem.. any time you cross spark the battary its the ingition module... good luck keith....

I think that the coil packs has installed wrong because you said that the problem started when you replaced them... so i think you should re-install.
