Under the glove box beneath the dash the resistor should be screwed into the heater housing.

SOURCE: where is locate the camshaft position sensor on

The camshaft position sensor is located inside the distributor. It is a hall effect swich, simply remove the distributor cap and the rotor and you can lift it out, unplug and replace.
Have fun but beware a bad crankshaft position sensor can cause a false cam sensor code to be set sometimes.
Good luck.

I have a 1998 jeep grand cherokee Laredo limited 5.9. I am trying to get the tow package electrical to work, but it doesn't seam to get any power to the plug in at the trailer hitch. I have checked

sure, why not look that up in the FSM.?
why not say which function fails.
park, turns, brake? backup (all 4?) (check ground #5)
after market wire job or factory tow package?
we cant guess any of that.

you can see all the orig. wiring here.
ZJ, click that and 8w wiring chapter.
and see it all, every inch of wire in car."STOCK"
stock means, as it left the factory Day 1.

I looked and didnt see a tow option in the FSM. 1998.
but didnt read every page.

I have a new 2010 jeep cherokee and purchased a Mopar 7-way tow harness. I am currently in the process of doing the wiring installation, but the instructions are NOT clear as to 'what' gets...

if you have the dealer tow connector then it easy to do, theres no cut of wires you just connnect to connectors,if you look under the rear of the jeep you will see the connectors, they are pre wiring and taped or zip tied up, on this year if you dont see them under the rear then look inside the rear behind panels. heres a good website with videos to help you, all you do is type in the year make and model, there are two types, if your truck has the tow package then theres a wiring for that with two plugs if it didnt come with a tow package then it comes with four connector plugs, the web site is

I need to find out how to tow a jeep grand cherokee limited with full time 4 wheel drive all 4 wheels down behind a motor home. I hope you can help me. Thank you

You can tow in with the transfer case in neutral as long as all 4 wheels are on the ground like with a tow bar.If you use a tow dolly you will have to remove the rear drive shaft. This transfer case has a viscous coupling that will over heat if all the wheel dont turn at the same rate.

What is the towing capacity of 4wd 1998 grandcherokee laredo, 4.0 ltr

You can tow just about anything with anything if you have the right gearing. BUT, Your limit is set by the kind of hitch (class rating) you are going to use. I use a simple rule of not towing anything more than double the weight of the vehicle you are pulling with. In towing heavy loads you will need an electric trailer braking system, stabilizer bars, lighting harness addition (applies overall...some require an add on module additional to wiring to prevent system damage), heavy duty radiator and an external transmission cooler. (also, more frequent trans fluid changes, best to use synthetics)
If you will be towing on a regular basis, I'd also look into getting the "police package" in regards to sway bars and shocks (all around) as it helps with control.

1998 Windstar w/o tow package need solution to increase tow capacity

You may be getting into a very dangerous situation. You definitely need a tranny cooler, a brake controller installed in your van, electric brakes on all wheels of whatever u r towing, an oil cooler (engine), and u still may be in big trouble. Factory towing packages usually include heavy duty brakes, alternator, heavy duty suspension, bigger tires, sway bars, etc. So even w/ some add-ons u still won't match a factory set up, meaning u shouldn't tow that much weight. Check out for more info, be careful, and good luck, countrycurt0
