Upper fire wall under the hood. Usually a foot or so from the right, under the wipers, if you will.

Well were to start. Well lets see my husband has changed 3 alternatorson our van. the oringinal and the 2 others. but all of them are not chargeing. they have checked the battery it seems fine. battery...

stop putting alternators on it...if the last 2 didnt work then a 3rd definately isnt. charging is all pcm controlled. check the wiring to the pcm or it could very well be the pcm its self. and the pcm needs to be installed at a dealer because it needs to be programmed

I am try to find out how to test a ecm/pcm in my van I have changed all the sensors in the van

Why would you change even one sensor?

You have to understand how each sensor
works, and what is it there for, as well as how
to test them

Nothing on any vehicle ever gets replaced
without testing to component level

If you throwing parts at a problem, you surely
won't have the abliity to test anywhere near a
pcm/ecm. They seldom fail

What your asking is to teach you a basic electricity
coarse, as well as how to use test equipment

I think you better resign to professional help, like
a repair shop

Would have been cheaper from the begining

Took our 2001 Caravan SE to local mechanic because rear wiper quit working. They diagosed proble as faulty PCM. Thought they were doing us a favour by putting in a used one from a 2002 that they thought...

i dont see why they would diag the pcm for the rear wiper, power from fuse to switch to wiper!! no pcm in between this operation. I would have had this fixed in a hour. Have mechanic pay for the bill to get it running. It was running fine when you took it there and only the rear wiper didnt work and now you are out of a vehicle and a tow bill at a hourly dealer cost. Best of luck to you 300.00 later.

Hello! There is a Technical Service Bulletin; TSB 06-14-10 for this vehicle that addresses water entering the Power Train Control Module (PCM...computer) or Transaxle vent which will cause transmission problems...A fix for this problem is available at your dealership...Your vehicle does have an electronic shift transmission...Which is controlled by the PCM...No individual fuse powers the digital shift circuit...It powers the PCM...If a fuse were blown the vehicle would not start...

Van bucks under load. Without a load (nuetral) the motor acts fine. Could it be the ECM?

is the yellow check engine light on? and no the chances the PCM (new term for ECU) is the problem are slim to none, when a PCM fails in almost all causes the engine will not run.

2000 Ram Van - is the voltage regulator located in the alternator

The voltage is regulated by the pcm (power control module ) on the truck. You cannot make any adjustments, removed or tampered with in any way to the pcm. Only a dodge dealer can check it out to see what the problem is with the pcm. Hope this will help you.
