Not firing,, Nothing

Will not fire!!! I have put stator, coil, plug, cdi box & still no fire!!! Check wiring, what's left? I was wondering about that diode by the handle bars, Should the diode be a open or closed circuit???? Thinking out loud!!!! Thanks

Diodes are a one way circuit ( a sort of non return valve so to speak for electricity) IF it is good it will be continuous circuit one way and an open circuit the other . You ,mention handle bars so I take it that you are talking motor bike. There is a kill switch on the handle bars that is an emergency stop for the engine and it is very easy to turn it off when manouvering the bike . Check this is on or there will be no ignition circuit.

My brother has a yz80we rebuilt the carb put a new plug in it n it still won't start it has fire and fuel key way isn't broken

I have had lots of these bikes, even though you see fire, put the plug in coil wire, and hold spark plug-kick over with other hand, yea if it knocks heck out of ya you know mag, and cdi box is good. If you only feel a lil nothing to big get a cdi box new. Now you say its getting fuel. when you choke it should show fuel on plug. You need to take carb back off to see if the power reeds are good, or got damaged when you took off carb to rebuild. good luck guys 2 strokes rule....................

Replaced the CDI unit, new spark plugs, but still one spark plugs will not function, only the three spark plugs is running. why?

Mark the one not firing. Now swap it out with one that fire. Does it fire now. If No then you will need a new CDI.If it doesnt then you have a wire issue. also check spark plug wires.

Will not get fire to the plugs I replaced the cap button coil computer ingtion swich stell no fire

Ground the lead from a test light and then use the test light to the check the (-) negative side of the ignition coil and when the engine is cranking over the test light should flash or blink off and on rapidly indicating that there is a dwell signal to the ignition coil, and if the test light does not flash or blink then there is either a problem with the pick-up coil/stator located inside of the distributor, or there is a damaged wire somewhere in the ignition system between the pick-up coil/stator inside of the distributor and the computer, or between the (-) negative wire to the ignition coil and the computer.

Also be sure to remove the distributor cap and have someone turn over the engine and be certain that the ignition rotor does in fact turn, and that there are no blown out fuses that run the computer.

If the hi-tension wires check out ok you may want to check on the distributor and the contacts at its end and in the inside. You may also want to test the ignition coil.

Turns over but wont start.

Start by checking if it's a fuel or fire problem. Take a plug wire off and turn motor over.If there is fire, Take the hose going from the air cleaner to the throtle body off and spray a small amount of carb. cleaner in.If it's a fuel prob.,check the fuel pump relay (under the hood in a black box) (swap the relay out with another relay in the box ) If the relay is o.k., it's probly the fuel pump. If it;s a fireing prob., start with the coil and wires going to the coil.
