Will a broken water pump cause anti freeze to mix with oil and drip

Bought car to have water pump replaced cause of a anti freeze leak. they said I didn't need pump but my engine gaskets all had to b replaced so they did that plus sent heads to be plained. said they put new clamps on all of pipes n tubes for anti freeze leak. 2 days later car wont start get it started and am getting a chocolate milk dripping under car. bring it back to mechanic he said my water pump broke cause the engine was air tight and caused an internal leak so now wants to replace water pump. has anyone ever heard of that

Yes, your water pump attaches to the front of the engine block. If a leak opens up between the two, coolant goes into the crankcase along with oil. That means water and oil are being circulated through the bearings and cylinders of your engine. Don't drive it in this condition.

SOURCE: 2002 chryler sebring is leaking anti freeze

It depends on where the leak is coming from. If the water pump is leaking, it has a hole on the bottom of it. You will see a trail of dried anti freeze coming from the bottom of it, indicating a bad water pump. It's best to dry everything off, crank it up and let it come to operating temp and check for where the leak is coming from. It may just be an old hose or loose clamp.

1st make sure your cooling fans turn on. If they do, you probably have air in your cooling system. If you don't know where the bleed valve is or how to bleed the cooling system, check out this link. COOLANT BLEED VALVE

Pressure test the radiator for leaks if it holds pressure start the engine. And check if pressure rises and keeps rising ,if it does it points to blown gasket or cracked head. A faulty thermostat can make it over heat so check it out . I would not mix the anti freeze as a lot of them don't mix well. put the anti freeze in all year as it stops corrosion of the cooling system.

do a compression check on those 2 cylinders to rule out head gasket, check the new plugs you installed to see if they got fouled out, it is possible some anti-freeze may be leaking into those cylinders from the intake gasket.
1998 uses dex cool anti-freeze and it is known to eat away and corrode the gaskets.
the only good way to use dex cool is to mix precisely 50/50 and use distilled water.
switching to the green can cause water pump damage since they are designed for the lubricant in the dex cool.i mention the anti-freeze because a lot of people will change the gaskets and run the green only to have a failing water pump not long after, if you decide to switch make sure you replace the pump.

have the cooling system pressure tested
indicates a rusted out welsh plug in the head anti freeze and water is mixed in the ratio of 50:50 or 1:1 or 50%
so a gallon of water would require a gallon of anti freeze
That figure is the best to prevent corrosion and freezing of the coolant

Best bet is the gasket. After removing the head have it serviced professionally, replace thermostat and water pump and timing belt while in there

Oil in coolant . oil cooler bad but which one

Oil generally will get into the coolant due to a headgasket leaking, or a cracked head.

You'll need to pressurize both systems (OIl & Cooling) to try & determine where the leak is coming from. .

Antifreeze in the oil can cause the pistons to sieze in the cylinders and if you've got oil in the anti-freeze, you more than likely have anti-freeze in the oil, or soon will.

Good luck.

Car leaking coolant

First of all ensure that your car is leaking coolant fluid, and what is dripping is not just water condensation from the air conditioner.
If you have a coolant liquid leak, it can be from one of the ducts leading to radiator , from water pump or radiator itself. Check liquid levels, and if you have a leak have the car inspected by a qualified mechanic.
A broken water pump, for example, can cause your motor to blow in few miles.
