How do u bleed a power steering on 89 camry

It's pretty much self bleeding, With the cap off the power steering reservoir turn the wheel as far as it will go one way then turn fully the other way, keep going back and forward until the bubbles stop coming up and it becomes quiet. Sometimes you need to add power steering additive to completely remove the air bubbles.

When driving very slow or idle battery light comes on and power steering goes out.

could be as simple as the belt is stretched out and going bad, and will need to be replaced, however I would also take a look at the tensioner pully, it may be going bad as well and not keeping the belt tight enough.

Good luck!

Power steering keeps going stiff all the time

There are 2 things that cause power steering to go stiff. The power steering pump itself either from failure or "lack of fluid" and the rack and pinion assy under the car.
Most of the time the failure is the power steering pump itself. The teflon rollers fail inside the pump and it either stops providing an output pressure or it seizes up. You can loosen the power steering pump belt then try to rotate the pump by hand. It should move by hand. If it feels like it is intermittently locking up as you rotate, it the teflon rollers have failed and the pump will need to be replaced.

Power steering keeps going out on my 2007 hhr. had the fuse replaced once already and its out again! i have been told there is no power steering pump, is that true?

yes it's true they do not have a power steering pump
they have electric power steering
i'm not sure about the HHR but the G5 and the COBALT have a MESSAGE come up on the RADIO or the DIC service power steering
my guess would be you have a short that's why the fuse blew
poss. POWER STEERING MOTOR shorted internal
you should have the vehicle scanned for a fault code in the steering system
hope this helps

Power steering keeps going out. i can cut my car

check the power steering fluid level. If it is low it will give you this problem. It should be on the drivers side close to where the belts are located. The reservoir cap should be marked with a steering wheel or something like that to illustrate what it some power steering fluid from you auto part store, and fill her up.

One little issue, if the fluid is low I would be a little worried. This is a closed or sealed system. If the fluid is low then I would think there may be a leak. Do you notice any leaking on the ground when your parked?

Power steering - 1999 chevy silverado

You're going to have to bleed the system alot on those trucks. Just remove the return line and have an assistant turn the steering wheel back and forth just enough to engage the pump and filling the resevour while doing this. Keep bleeding until you have a good flow of P/S fluid out with no air bubbles. This can take a while.
