Starting problem

My BMW E46 M43TUB19 engine has a starting problem frequently. Sometimes its ok, sometimes it ain't. Went to the mechanics, they changed the fuel pump & fuel filter, but the problem is still there. Now they tell me to change the a sensor below the inlet manifold, i dont what they will ask me to change next. They cant solve the problem, its just trial & error at my expense. Plz help me before i go broke.

I live in Jakarta.
