What makes you think there are bands. ?
did you look in the FSM>
did you post exact transmission in your car , ?
here is a free look 1993 chickodee.
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service

32RH (has bands) page 96 and 97 (band adj)
or
AW-4 no bands. uses solenoid clutch packs. electric.
see them both and all tests and settings.
is yours a TCM shifted ? tranny, yes then why not scan it.
or the flash code procedure. page 174

the TCM cars will flash OD lamp or drive lamps or something
to tell you its got error codes.
get them.

best of best. aw-4
(see the manual mode test. many cars have this, not just jeeps)
may TCM tranny cars, (RTM read the FSM and learn this)

http://mikestrawbridge.com/blog/2011/09/aw4-troubleshooting/

hint 2:
make sure the tranny ground stap is not broken.
if it is, it will never ever shift right or reliably
true for just about any TCM car.
see one guy last week bought new tranny ,and never used
a voltmeter on the solinoids. had 12v casing.. a shame.

No reverse

There is no reason to adjust any bands on any
auto trans

They are either brought down tight & backed off to spec
or there is no adjustment depending on unit (trans)

That is only done when built or rebuilt

To answer your question, no band adjustment will get you
reverse back or help any other drum performance

The bands just don't wear enough to require any attention

Mike -- next time you may want to enter a vehicle, make, model,
& in the case of a trans, the model of the unit

1999 dodge QC/w diesel. Transmission slipping in the reverse direction. Why??? Duane

duane there should b adjustments for ur reverse band in ur trans pan .wen dropped u can access these pivoting levers in the pan pull them with ur fingers to actuate the band, u should b able to move them with about1 inch of play or less anymore and band wont apply. u either have band lining material starting to wear,or ur reverse clutches are starting to wear out. chek ur fluid condition, if its dark w a burnt smell ur trans probably gonna need overhauled, if not then ur adjustment may do the trick. note that the very loose band pivot rod is gonna b reverse..... good luck hope this was helpful

87 cutlass no reverse

foward and no reverse. In order for the reverse to happen there is a transmission brake assemble, the transmission band holds the brake assembly thus allowing fluid to be driven according to gear selection, when no reverse happens there is a malfunction of mechanical or hydraulic part, Depending on the condition you can adjust the kick down or adjust the band. A general procedure for automatic transmission band adjustment involves tightening the band adjusting screw to a given torque sequence, back off the adjusting screw from turning while torque-tightening the adjustment screw about a 1/4 turn and lock down the lock nut,and recheck to see if reverse has been restored.

1996 dodge ram diesel no reverse

It could be a few different problems but the trans will likely need rebuilt. There is one solution that you can do with the trans in the truck. It might be that the reverse band is out of adjustment. You have to remove the bottom pan to adjust the reverse band. There is a test to see if its the reverse band. First do all the other gears work? Next drive it in Manual 1st. Does it have engine braking when you let off. If no, its the band.

Have c6 trans locks good in 1st and 2nd wont shift into 3rd

Tighten the band adjustment to 18 inch pounds it is a stud with a locking nut on the side of the transmission it is the one located toward the rear of the transmission not the one towards the front that is the 1st/reverse band adjust replace the modulator if problem persists sometimes they stick

My '94 Grand Cherokee Limited has no power in reverse.

It sounds like the reverse band is out of adjustment. Three things can cause this, reverse band, front clutch and the overdrive direct clutch. To test the band, drive the truck in manual low up to 25 mph. Then let off, if the transmission doesn't pull the engine down, the band needs adjusted. If the front clutch is the problem, 3rd gear will be act weird too. The only test I know of for the overdrive direct is to inspect it, so process of elimination will have to work. Hopefully the problem is the band, because you can pull the pan, service the trans, adjust the band, and be done. Any of the other problems and you are looking at a rebuild. Good luck.
