Question about 2001 Mitsubishi Galant
Computer says the crank shaft sensor fault and no activity and it came up with camshaft sensor i put new sensors in it and still didnt change anything
I am assuming the engine will run. It could be a wiring problem or the cam and crank are not in sync.
I would need to know the actual codes to give more detail.

It's possible that the sensor needs to be rotated. The sensor is keyed so it can only be installed in one position. The camshafts spin once for every two revolutions of the crank, so it's possible that the sensor is 360 degrees out of phase (I've had this happen on timing belt jobs on other cars - with the sensor out of phase, the car would start, and then trail off and die within a few seconds). What you can try is to carefully remove the sensor, turn it over to see the part that mates to the cam, rotate it one full revolution, and then put it back on. Try that out and see if it helps. If it does the trick, great. If not, post back up and we can try to go from there.

The first sensor closest to the exhaust manifold is for the air to fuel ratio. The second one if it has one will be further downstream and checks to see if exhaust is plugged.
Is your car running right especially at idle????

On 1999 and later 2.4L SOHC engines it is located on the left end of the cylinder head (opposite end of the engine from the timing belt)

The engine and automatic transmission in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool.
