Question about 2000 Lincoln Town Car
Try to start it and it cranks but will not start . Has gas . and this is and has been an intermittant problem for a while and now it just wont start at all . Cranks and sounds like it wants to but NO GO !!! Any ideas why it would just do it sometimes and then just quit ??? HAAAAAAEEELP !!!! Paaaaaleaase ???
Check/replace the ignition module in the distributor . check for loose wires and faulty connections in the ignition system. Check and replace coil (if not multiple coils). Check rotor button and cap for carbon dust the allows HT shorts . Check/replace the HT leads as pulling them off destroys the carbon track in the lead.

SOUNDS LIKE THE CRANK SENSOR POSS. AS I HAVE ONE HERE THAT I JUST DIAGNOSED FOR THE SAME THING WITH A SCAN TOOL WHEN WE FINALLY GOT IT NOT TO START. I'LL FOLLOW UP AFTER SENSOR INSTALL

Check your gas cap. If someplace can test it you might luck out. This website advertises manuals and info online. The evaporator cannister is suppose to purify excess fuel vapors. But a system which is not sealed will code an error lamp.
