1995 2500 chevy truck is hard to start once it starts acts like it wont kick off surges and blows white smoke what could be problem?

check for a coolant leak as white smoke indicates burning coolant. it could be a head gasket or cylinder head problem. this can also cause a hard start as coolant won`t burn like gas. to do this you will have to get a head gasket test done.

Engine start but won t stay running

Loss of rings on number 1 piston. You don't mention the other cylinders. Or you may have a blown head gasket between the cylinder and the oil journal.

I over heated, the serpentine belt snapped. Opened the hood to find steam rapidly coming out of both the antifreeze and out of the engine right by the head gasket. It wasn't smoke not blue or black jus

Perform a compression test on your cylinders. One unfortunate result of overheating is the blown head gasket. Without compression your motor will not run. Tester are not super expensive or some stores will lend tools.

1993 Subaru loyale no compression, have spark at the coil just won't start

The engine can't run without compression in the cylinders. The plug will still spark, but without a compressed air/fuel mixture to burn and power the cylinder down, the starter will just keep spinning the engine over, cranking forever and not starting.
Check if your timing belts are good and not broke. Cylinder compression is dependent on good piston rings, intake and exhaust valves that open and close at right times and that seal good when closed, and a head gasket that seals up the cylinder from leaks where compression could blow into the water passages, or oil passages, or to outside of engine.
If the timing belts are good, a leak-down test of each cylinder will pinpoint where compression is lost.
Good luck with the Sube, great cars, great engines, but the head gaskets are a common problem.

Car overheated now won't start

If you got it that hot then you have most likely blown the engine cylinder head gasket and have coolant in the cylinders. At this point I would look for a good repair shop or if the car is already in poor shape replace it if possible. You could end up with about a $3000.00 repair bill on this if you burnt the engine down..

My 1998 chevy malibu wont start after overheating with smoke why

If the engine was overheated, you most likely have a cracked cylinder head and/or a blown head gasket. The reason it won't start is because there is angine coolant getting in the combution chambers. (You cannot run the engine on antifreeze)

Difficult to start up sounds sluggish, once shut off, won't start, coil was hot (coil recently replaced). Needs new muffler.

Replace spark plugs with new ones. put new muffler in. The muffler has an affect on the way engine runs. (back pressure) is needed. At this age you may need a head gasket(s). Compression check on all cylinders. The list goes on... Good luck

My car start smoking very heavy white smoke an stop running

You've blown a head gasket. the white smoke is from the coolant getting into the
cylinders thru the faulty head gasket. The fact that it won't run tells you that so much
coolant is getting into the cylinder(s) that the engine can't function properly.
Fix: buy a new head gasket, take the head off the engine, and replace the gasket.

95 camry won`t start

Have the head gasket torqued to 60psi each bolt? if so, either the spark plug grooves got a crack, or the head is bent due to a past overheat... or overheats. If so, send the head to a machine shop and have it leveled out, and replace all gaskets replaced when putting back on. That includes, manifold, header, and head gaskets, as well as the oil seals and O-rings. Hope this will help you.
