this will probably be your cadalitic converter, i can't see why your impala would already have an issue with this, purhaps you have over 100,000 miles already or you use it for racing a lot (putting extra fuel in the exhaust will ruin a converter) reset it and see if you still have a problem, and if you don't fit either criteria above then you probably have a problem with an O2 sensor
