SOURCE: 2001 ford f150 supercrew 4x4......4 wheel drive

There is a special sequence for that. Let me see if I can remember... Pull to a level surface, put the parking barake on, put the truck in neutral, shift to four-wheel drive, release the brake, shift to drive.

The computer waits for this sequence. It has been many years since I did this. If it doesnt work, call your dealer shop and they will tell you the correct sequence.

The key doesn't unlock the door from the outside on 2003 ford f150. passenger door lock works. all power lock work from inside. What piece is damaged?

I would think the rod from the key cylinder to the door lock mech is off or broken.

These are pictures from when I put the keypad on my 2001 SuperCrew. The mech could be slightly different, I do not recall if this is different on the SuperCrew vs the SuperCab or Std cab trucks.

Viewed through the door panel opening ( key cylinder already out, you can see the opening rod is straight up by the red )

You can see the rod connected to the key cylinder in the upper left of this picture, down to the door lock. This is what you need to check.

This is a better shot of the key cylinder. The spring clip is removed from the cylinder, that is why it is free in the door. Take note of the way the rod attaches to the cylinder. This is plastic and could be the cause of your symptoms.

This is where I would start considering the door works as normal with the power locks both inside and out.

We recently purchased a 2004 f150 4 b 4. We would like to activate or reset the code from the door. How should I do it. Also, I lost the little black box where the alarm is activated, to lock and unlock...

The door keypad, you need to remove the rear seat back ( for the SuperCab and SuperCrew cab types ). Bit of frustrating work, but it really only takes 15 min once you get the latch locations down

The Ford RKE ( Remote Keyless Entry ) fob, you can purchase anywhere. They are on eBay, and other sites. Search google for "ford remote key fob" and do the price shopping. Some time ago, I got a repalcement from keylessride.com.

Not a regular cab but Lariat F-150 Supercrew 2003 , the inside and the cargo lights stay on when the truck is shut down ,and now I notice the auto locking doors are not working when you touch the brake...

Is the door ajar light in the cluster illuminated ?

Could be the door ajar switch ( part of the door latch ) is gummed up, and needs to be WD-40 sprayed into it, and close open the doors a few times, and repeat.

The autolock uses the same input, to know to lock the doors when you press the brake pedal while moving.

Power locks repeatedly locking and unlocking while driving

It sounds like one of the switches may be faulty. I see this happen a lot with Fords...
You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. You can then disconnect the harness connecting the power locks and you can test the switches...

If it's equipt, do the following:
  • turn key as you stated you did 8 times from off to run ending in the ON position Must be done within 10 seconds
  • The doors should lock and unlock, Here is where you press any button on the key fob you wish to program
  • The doors should lock/unlock again to confirm it's been programmed.
  • Turn the key back to the off position; you will hear the doors lock/unlock one last time
This process should work to program your key fob. Remember to turn the key 8 times within 10 seconds. Best of luck.
