Question about BMW X5 Series

Open Question

Air gap I replaced the front wheel bearings/new break pads and in my X5 drove for a short time had no issues. WHAM all 3 lights came on. ABS/DSC/BRAKE.. Put a code reader on and said right front speed sensor. Replaced the speed sensor and still have the same issue but this time it is also saying front right speed sensor/air gap. How do you correct this issues or is my ABS module going bad? I have no lights on at start up and when I drive about 25 feet they all come on.

SOURCE: Brakes

I have experienced problems with my Passat, when working on the brakes it is very easy to hit the sensors, these are a push fit, if they are not fully home the light comes on. simply push the sensors until they click home.
On a side issue I have problems with the traction control affecting acceleration in a corner, I traced this to a garage fiting a 60% tyre instead of a 65% tyre
Hope this helps

SOURCE: My 2006 F150 abs light

It sounds like you might be having a problem with your Electronic control module. Are the only codes coming up just for the sensor? Have you recently cleaned your engine or driven in very wet weather? If so, water could have gotten into your connections at the modules and causing odd codes. I hope this helps. Jay

SOURCE: Yellow DSC and Brake light on... recently changed brake pads

Abs and dsc are related and with the light on these won't work. It is possible that you need to go back to where the work was done to look this over.

SOURCE: ABS LIGHT ON / BAD WHEEL SPEED SENSOR / HOW TO REPLACE

You can do it yourself. One bolt. Check the plug and wires before you replace the sensor. A stick or whatever can break a wire and the sensor reads bad, but really it just needs a wire. Worth a quick look before you spend the $ on a new part.

Got on highway last week car started shimming got home front wheel was burning hot replaced front caliber drove 120 miles fine now today have same promblem

You might want to have a mechanic take a look at your
master cylinder, especially if you replaced the brake caliper on the hot wheel. If you didn't replace the brake caliper on the hot wheel, you should do that first. They do go bad from time to time. They can get stuck in the on-braking position and drag and cause all that heat to build up. Shimmy was probably caused by a heat warped rotor.

Weird vibration, unable to figure out

I would have the front wheel bearing adjustment checked first as if they are loose the rotor will be rubbing on the pads and the vibration will be wheel wobbling on the loose bearings Unless you replaced the bearings with new ones then they will fail especially if the adjustment was too tight and too much grease was used.

Recently had a front wheel collapse onmy s type jaguar ive had it fixed but the DSC light is on and ABS is coming on under breaking on drivers side front wheel any ideas

the jaguar front wheel bearing comes complete with a abs sensor and bearing cover if someone has removed the cover it sounds like the air gap between sensor and the reluctor ring is to great or has someone renewed just bearing and not the hub unit like you are ment to do? have a good look at the rear of the bearing cover.

Vibration between 55 and 65 mph

I am a minor shade tree mechanic here so this is just a guess. It might be a front brake rotor, a break pad caliper that has a sticky hydraulic piston, front wheel bearing, or something else. Look at the pad and rotor wear for it possibly being a break system issue. Not sure, if you do not have a solid front axle look at the inner part of the wheel under the vehicle where the ball mates into the socket for any wet fluids or unusual gunk or build up around the axle and break calipers for a wheel bearing problem. Jack up the front end and make sure you chalk the rear tires, vehicle is in PARK and the steering wheel is unlocked as to where the steering wheel can be turned if needed. After vehicles front tires are off the ground try to pivot the front wheels to point in a different direction left turn or right turn. This can be tried by physically grabbing the tire trying to move the tire to point left or right. If the front tires are able to be pointed in a different direction without the aid of the steering wheel, then it could be a wheel bearing issue or a more serious issue. Hope you can make sense of these instructions, and hope this helps you find and fix any and all existing problems you are having with your vehicle.

Why does my ford escort give a grinding noise from the front left wheel on braking, with or without the brakes applied?

Your brake squealers are rubbing, telling you it is time to change the pads before they wear down the rotors. If that isn't the sound you got then the bearing is shot and you have less time to fix it because it will weld itself to the spindle and you will have to replace more parts. Hope this helps.

Honda Civic 2007 Civic . Cahange wheel bearing and

sorry to tell you this but it sounds like the wheel bearing was put in backwards on one or both sides. the front wheel bearings have a black speed ring built in and that is what your speed sensor reads off. - this is common as the front bearings will install either way- hope this helps

Front right wheel bearing and break pads

Nope. 90% chance its your caliper pins. the caliper is required to float. When you remover the caliper by the two pins or whatever your application they require lube. if one is bent or seized the caliper wont float, the pads or pad will continue to wear because the caliper wont return to "neutral" location when the piston no longer has pressure on it. locate these pins and lubricate them with a graphite grease or something like lubriplate or similar. if the pins are bent remove them and replace. they're pretty cheap. good luck

Pads worn down to the break wear pad which sings or vibrates when pads need replacement.

Frontend problem

that sounds like the pressure regulator of your brakes is broken. The pressure does not release from the left side.
Unless it is the calliper, but i think you already checked that out. Pressure regulator is the main cause for problems like this.
It regulates pressure between back and front side
