The Cam & Crank Sensor controls whether the coils will give spark to the engine or not if you scan the computer it should give you a code for 1 of these sensors. They are very easy to change and are only around $50.00 each.

SOURCE: 2000 mitsubishi galant 4 cylinder,

Hi, if the fuel trim is failing with a new sensor, the problem may be with the wiring. The down stream sensor cannot correct the fuel trim. What you need to do is troubleshoot the reason the upstream sensor is not working. Use a voltmeter set to DC to check the wiring at the upstream sensor connector. With the key on, there should be 12 volts across the red and black wires and also 12 volts across the red and the striped wire. Identifying these voltages will allow us to narrow down which wires may have failed. Please report back the results of these tests for repair instructions.

Where are the 02 sensors on a 2002 Buick Lesabre 3.8L?

The O2 sensors are in the exhaust. Your have up stream and down stream. The upstream is right behind the engine in the down pipe back by the firewall. The downstream sensor is under the car back by the catalytic converter.

The pink and black-white wires are for the heater, the other two are for the sensor circuit.
If you can tell me which sensor I can get the colors for you.

What is the easiest way to replace the pigtail on the harness that conects to the upstream o2 sensor on a 1996 dodge grande caravan 3.3L

Just cut and splice. 1 black wire, 1 grey wire, 2 white wires just color match. You may want to remove the upper intake plenum to gain access though. Might as well plan on replacing the o2 sensor while your at it. If the plug got melted because it rested on the exhaust manifold, you probably wont get it unplugged. Not sure where to obtain a replacement plug though. You may have to hit some salvage yards.

My trooper is giving like 6 miles to the gallon its a V6 2.8 engine. I dont know where th oxygen scensor connect.

Hello! I have the wiring to your engine and perhaps a solution...The wire color from the ECM on Connector D pin #7 is White/Green and goes to the O2 sensor...The color at the O2 sensor is Black...White/Blue is connector D pin #1...wire colors that have aged are easily mistaken White looks Yellow with age...connect the O2 sensor to D-7...The O2 sensor is White/Green NOT White/Blue (which looks like Yellow/Blue) this wire is the Check Engine Connector...Tell me how many wires are either cut or misplaced? If we eliminate wiring we can concentrate on why your getting 6 miles /Gal...

If the vehicle backfires or runs poorly My next suggestions are to check the plug wires to be sure they are in the correct place...and #2 to check the timing...the left bank=1, 3, 5 and the right bank=2, 4, 6...Firing order is1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6...CCW on the distributor...Stick with me and we'll have it purring. see timing below...

Where are the o2 sensors located on 2004 dodge durango and how many are there?

I believe you may have three (3) O2 sensor, (2) of the sensor is on ether side of the exhaust down pipe and some times called up stream O2 sensor, the third O2 sensor know to some as the down stream O2 and is after the Catalytic converter.
The up stream O2 monitors the left and right side banks and sends signals to the ECM to make the adjustments to the injectors to keep the proper air/fuel ratio.
The down stream O2 monitors the catalytic converter and sends signal to the ECM if the catalytic converter has gone bad.
Good luck and hope this helps. If you get it scanned at Auto Zone, they should be able to let you know which O2 has gone bad so as to not change all three. You could always check the wire harness to the down stream O2 for corrosion.

There should be 2 ways of doing this. Get a portion of the wiring harness off a wreck or see if Ford can get you a new wire. Someone else may know more about this but some wires have heating elements in them and some may have resistance in the wiring. A plain wire would not be the same.

Which O2 sensor for 2005 Dodge Ram Quad 5.7 (Hemi); the parts stores asked if I needed the 2,3 or 4 wire. My Vin starts with 1D7HA18DXXXXXXXXX

Which O2 sensor do you need, you have 4 O2 sensors in your Dodge ram. Is it the O2 sensor upstream or the down stream. I believe the down stream will have the 4 wire lead and the up stream will have the 3 wire leads. If you need the down stream O2 sensor which is the common one to go bad, you can look at the wire harness clip which is only 6 inches a way form the sensor after the catalytic converter. Good luck and hope this helps.
