2006 dodge ram heater mode door repair

Check to see if actuator is moving,where the actuator plugs in the door the plastic may have broken on the door then the heater box would need to come out to repair but if the actuator isn't working then easily replaced then all doors recalibrated provided it's getting the command from HVAC module..

The check engine light was on, so I changed the thermostat on my 03 Envoy. Now the air conditioning won't work. It blows hot air out of the inside vents, with the heater turned off.

When you changed the stat, you probably disconnected the battery. This caused the HVAC to lose its calibation and during the recalibration, one of the mode control actuators or the associate doors failed. You can try to force another recalibration by doing the following;
1) turn all HVAC controls and switches to their OFF or CCW positions.
2) disconnect the battery for a few minutes (>2 min.)
3) reconnect battery and don't touch any HVAC controls for a few minutes.

If this does not return the system to working order, you will have to have the actuator(s) replaced. Attached is a diagram of their locations.

Below are pictures of basically everything that is going to need to be removed. Now you will need to remove the HVAC housing as well but it does NOT need to be disassembled and can be taken out as a complete unit. If you have any questions or need any instructions or pictures, feel free to email me at csautomotivecars@att.net. Hope this helps you and good luck.

There are two possible reasons, the HVAC system needs to recalibrate itself or one of the HVAC door actuators has gone bad or is stuck.
To recalibrate the system, set all HVAC controls to their OFF or CCW positions. Disconnect the battery for a few minutes, then reconnect. Do not touch any of the HVAC controls for about 2 -3 minutes. Then see if the systems works OK.
If this does not work, the dash will need to be disassembled to access the door actuators.

Could be one of two things, HVAC needs to recalibrate itself or one of the blend doors (or its actuator) is stuck. To accomplish the recalibration, set all HVAC controls and switches to their OFF or CCW positions, pull fuses # 36 and 39 in the rear fuse panel, wait about a minute then reinstall fuses. Do not touch any of the HVAC controls for 2 -3 minutes. If this does not resolve the vent issue, you will need to have the HVAC diagnosed by a technician.

Changed battery and now the dash vents don't work

One of two things has happened, one or more of the HVAC actuators has failed or the HVAC recalibration of the actuators when the battery was connected failed. To recalibrate the HVAC actuators do the following;
You can pull the battery off again for a few minutes, or easier: pull HVAC B fuse #36 in the rear fuse block (under the rear seat - driver's side) for 2 minutes. Then put it back in with the ignition off. Then turn the key to the RUN position, but don't start the engine. Don't touch the HVAC controls for 2 minutes, and you should hear the actuators and blower motor going through all the modes and speeds.
If this does not solve the problem, then the HVAC system will need to be troubleshot.

Cold air blows but when you switch it to heat it still blows cold air.

inspect cooling system for fluid or leaks, if it is low or no coolant, you must have a leak. also inspect hoses to firewall, one should be hotter than other, if they're ok need to recalibrate all HVAC doors

Need to recalibrate the actuator pulling out the hvac fuse b for 10 second

THE HVAC B FUSE IS LOCATED IN THE FUSE BOX UNDER THE REAR SEAT. IT IS FUSE 36. CLEAR ANY CODES FIRST. REMOVE THE FUSE FOR 10 SECONDS, REINSTALL THE FUSE, START THE ENGINE, WAIT 40 SECONDS FOR THE ACTUATORS TO RECALIBRATE.
