I wold check the timing on the Camaro. The slightest nudge of the distributor can cause the timing to go off, assuming it uses a distributor. If it uses a timing chain I would check that as well as the teeth on the chain. If distributor, also check the bolt holding it in place as sometimes they rattle loose. I would use a timing light either way. If you are using a distributor that uses a vacuum advance I would make sure that all the vacuum holes are plugged that are not being utilized. I learned this the hard way.

2007 Toyota Rav4: RPM fluctuates at around 2000 RPMs and engine seems to stutter or hesitate. Fairly consistent around 2000 RPMs. Does not happen when revved in park to 2000 or 2500 RPMs.

You need to check the engine for a vacuum leak, use a spray can of carb spray and lightly spray around engine (do not get on paint finish) when you hit a leak the engine idle will change

94 camaro v6 engine and the idol runs at 2000 rpms, runs even higher if heater switch is turned on. shop cant figure out issue any ideas?

Not much of a repair shop

Use the codes & reference material to diagnose
the problem

No reason a repair shop can't do that

Leave it there until they drive it & the light comes on

They have a scan tool & have to use it on a road trip
& record the data

Misfire, idles high

I would start with ect. That is the engine coolant temperature (sensor). That sensor monitors the coolant temp and tells the computer to increase engine RPM so the engine warms up faster. In the mornings when you first start your car and it idols high, that sensor is sending that information. If you have a code for this sensor start there.

My 1996 GMC jimmy wants to stall when I come to a stop. The RPM gage goes up & down then drops below 1000 RPMS and stalls.

I would go down to your local auto parts store and do an alternator and battery test. It sounds like at low rpms you are loosing volts. When you apply the brakes you would be supprised how much power from the engine it takes. You could also be loosing oil pressure. Check your oil level. When your engine drops low rpm, the oil pressure drops and shuts down the engine.

Fluctuating engine temp a/c sends out cold air intermittently

Here's the thing. The ECU will shut down AC if the engine temperature is too hot. If the coolant temperature sensor is malfunctioning (lying to the ECU) telling it that the temperature is hotter than it actually is, the computer will turn the AC OFF.

Oil pressure fluctuating

The sensor could be failing to read the lower pressure when the engine RPM slows down. Or the pump could be failing. I would replace the sensor and see if that doesn't correct the problem

I have a 4runner 1994 v6 3.0....how do I turn down the idel

You need to adjust the timing on the belts. This can be adjusted with a wrench. Adjustments should be made with slight measurements, a hair can change it. After adjustment, turn the car off and restart. Drive for a block and see where the RPM goes to when at idol. Keep adjusting until you get around 700-1,000 RPM.
Let me know if this helps.
