Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

Honeywell troubleshooting I just installed a Honeywell RTH9580 WiFi thermostat. Since I didn't have a seperate "c" wire for power....I followed the directions to use my existing green wire for power. hen restoring the power at the breaker panel, my furnace turned on right away...but the LCD screen stays blaacked out ...leaving me unable to control nor nor make adjustments. I've followed the trouble-shooting steps in the manual for a "blank screen".....but still no luck. Should I assume It's simply a bad/defective screen?? Thanks for any help or advice....

SOURCE: PCM Troubleshooting Check light on with no code reader power

You can't jump the connector to get codes on OBD II. (Pre 1996) Try hooking back up you code reader. If it doesn't communicate, check the fuse for the cig lighter. This fuse should also power up the diagnostic plug.

SOURCE: 1990 wrangler YJ speedometer doesn't work ( electrical?)

Ok...if i have this right, you have a cable driven speedometer with a gizmo connected in between which you bypassed with one continuous cable. and the speedometer still does not work? If so, find another working unit and replace it. If you find a unit with a reading close to what yours reads, that's fine. keep the reciept for the unit and just make a note on what actual miles were at the change. A dealer would need to be more precise but its over 20 years old! no one is going to care waht the miles are and it's more important to know hwo fast you are going!!!

SOURCE: 2003 Mazda tribute cruise control stopped working

the problem is more likely the cruise cable its self. if you pull the engine cover you will probably fine the cable has fallen off at the throttle body. the only way to fix this problem is to go to the dealer and buy a new cable.

You should put the correct filter in it, or find the little plunger and put a small piece of duct tape over it so the machine "thinks" the right filter is installed.

Honeywell troubleshooting

Emergency heat is the setting that shows that your heat strips are activated. Sometimes people do not wire up the heat strips at all as the use a great deal more power than the normal heat pump uses. The problem is that a heat pump comes to a point where it is not efficient at about 28 degrees and this is where you need the heat strips or if you want to heat the house quickly which a heat pump will not do. Heat strips are located in the ductwork and act like a space heater. A H/A tech is probably needed to check this stuff out for you.

My electric radiator fan won't turn on

If even after the engine heats up the fan does not work then you must check the following.
1. the thermostat to the fan must be checked.
2. the fuse to the fan motor must be checked, check fan seperately, check the relay unit.
3. Check the wiring to the fan circuit.
