If refrigerant is low , high side pressure may not be high enough to engage the pressure switch to kick on the fans. Have the a/c system evac'd and recharged to capacity then recheck fan operation. Also, extreme cold weather can reduce high side pressure on a fully charged system preventing fans from coming on.

SOURCE: 2001 pt cruiser no heat

did you check the fluid level by removing the rad. cap? Radiator should be full to top. If Chryslers are low on coolant, the heater will not blow warm air.

on a lot of vehicles, the electric fan cooling the radiator will stay on when the car is turned off. this is normal and happens when the senser tells the fan that the engine is hot and needs cooling. if it stays on for prolonged periods, there is a problem somewhere. should cool and turn off automatically. 03 pt cruiser turbo - cooling fan is noisy.

Most electric cooling fans are noisy. They move large volumes of air to cool the engine. You will hear this noise most predominately when the fan spools up when you are stopped at a traffic light. As long as it is working and cooling the engine I wouldn't worry about it.

2006 PT Cruiser radiator cooling fan stays on whenever the car is running. Is this normal? If not, is there a fix?

It might have a bad tempature sensor or a stuck thermostat .Faulty relays or a wiring issue I recently found a bad cooling fan plug on a 06 pt cruiser. You should first have it checked for computer codes it may show a code for the problem.
