SOURCE: 2003 cts will not start - 101,000 miles

it sounds like your alternator let go, therefore your battery is not charging, you will need to investigate further but the rattling would be explained by the alternator mechanically breaking internally and failing to charge the battery resulting in your present situation

SOURCE: i have a loud whining noise coming from my ac

The A/C compressor constantly turns because the pulley is connected into the serpentine system. The whining noise is pretty indicative of a low charge in the A/C system. I would start by having your A/C pressure checked and charged if needed.

Starts fine most of the time but once in awhile it will crank but not start, never shuts off while driving it. I drove it 30 miles one day made 2 stops and it started fine then I stoped for gas and it...

Could be your fuel pump starting to go. When it doesnt start, open your gas cap and listen for a whining noise when the key is turned onto the on position. This will indicate the fuel pump is working. If you dont hear that noise, then it most probably is the fuel pump.

Water pump?

Hello! If you're water pump is failing, you may or may not hear anything at all. At most, you may hear a whine, or squealing noise; but more often than not you won't hear anything. The high temperature that your car is operating at is a concern and needs to be addressed ASAP, as further and much more costly damage can occur very quickly if the cooling system is operating normally. Be sure to check coolant levels, ensure that all caps are in place securely. It might be worthwhile even to have your coolant system thoroughly flushed and refilled.

The sound that you describe, and the scenarios in which you do and don't hear it - suggest to me that you have a problem with the braking system. More specifically, you likely have warped rotor(s). If your steering wheel shakes when you apply the brakes, then this will confirm this theory.
If the steering wheel isn't shaking when you brake, then the next thing I would suspect is the wheel/hub bearing assembly. When a wheel/hub bearing goes bad, you will often experience vibrations, and a sound that is best described as a growling type of noise, much like that of excessive road noise.

I hope this helps, and good luck! Thanks for using FixYa!

Power stering stopped working radiator overheated

You have a broken fan belt. Put the new one on according to the diagram under the hood. Replenish your radiator overfill reservoir and recheck it until all the air is purged from the system.
