SOURCE: Engine cooling fan not turning on.

actually the contour and mystique both have this problem they tend to overheat and ruin engines and transmissions when the fan quits working the best fix is a kit you get from ford or advance auto parts it makes the coolong fan run all the time the engine is on and this will save you lots of problems in the future, not only am i a master automotive tech but i have owned 6 of these cars. the 96 mystique beng my favorite. mercury version. good luck james

SOURCE: cooling fan relay 1998 neon

on the left(driver's) side of the lower rad support. It's a small flat relay with a plug on the bottom and usually has a blue colored front. held on by two screws. Also, there may be more rad fan relays in the underhood fuse/relay box.
Good luck.

I have a 05 Jeep Liberty and no owners manual need to know what fuse is what and amp also relay placement under dash and under hood

Normally the fuse and relay layout is under the cover to the fuse panel your inspecting. I am trying to upload a schematic for a 2016 Jeep Liberty not knowing what year yours is. In the schematic it shows two power supplies to the radio, one is a 10amp and the other is a 15amp fuse. this would be typical of the radio u are dealing with. you can email me at spiescic@cogeco.ca with the year and I will send pdf files needed for your year and fuse/relay layout.

Mi jeep liberty 2002 fan doesn't turn on although i disconnect the temperature sensor, i have understood that if i disconnect it, the fan should turn on all time but it doesnt, i dont know what happens...

Having similar problem with an 03 Liberty. Replaced Radiator Cooling Fan Relay $82 and drill new mounting hole. Fan will not run after shutting off engine, so I'm thinking I have a bad thermostat or a bad cooling temperature sensor. Heading to the parts store now.

does it overheat at freeway speeds? No? then check the cooling fan and its fuses, relays, and connections. Make sure coolant level is correct. When you turn the AC on do the radiator fans turn on?

MY JEEP HAS BEEN OVERHEATING,I HAVE CHANGED THE THERMOSTAT AND THE WATER PUMP AND THE LOWER HOSE AND DIDNT TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM

There are a few things you need to check:
First, make sure the cooling system is free of air. This can be done by loosening the bleeder screw while the engine warms up and closing it when only coolant spills out.
Also, look for any leaks from the radiator. Keep in mind it could be leaking internally.
Make sure the cooling fans are working. Check the fuses and switch the cooling/radiator fan relay with a nearby relay like the A/C compressor relay or another relay you know to be working. If the cooling fans aren't engaging, there may be a wiring issue or they may need to be replaced.

Need to know what caused the overheating, possible broken serpentine belt, thermostat, water pump, radiator, fan clutch, cooling fan motor. After motor has cooled down fill radiator with water till full, look make sure serpentine belt not broke, start engine run about 5 minutes, turn off, let sit 3 minutes, start engine look at temperture gauge is it over half way of gauge, Do you have a fan blade driven by water pump or electric fans?

My 2003 jeep liberty blows super cold air then hot

WELL, IF YOU LOOK UNDER THE HOOD IN THE FUSE PANEL (BLACK RECTANGULAR BOX) YOU WILL SEE WHAT APPEARS TO BE LITTLE BLACK CUBES NEXT TO THE FUSES. THOSE ARE THE RELAYS. FIND THE ONE THAT IS FOR THE A/C. ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE FUSE/RELAY COVER IS A DIAGRAM. P.S. MAKE SURE THAT THE A/C FAN FUSE ANMD RELAY ARE ALSO WORKING. IF THE FAN DOESN'T WORK THEN THE A/C WILL GET WARM LIKE YOU DESCRIBED. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.PLEASE LET ME KNOW. GOOD LUCK AND THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA
