Go to the following and go to page 300. It is your owners manual and the fuse panels (underhood and instrument panel) are shown with fuse ID's.

How do i change the brake switch on my 1996 ford explorer

Remove the panel under the dash above the brake pedal, lock up and you will see the switch on the brake pedal arm, you must remove the retainer cip as shown in the diagram below, it is #2. The switch is #6 in the diagram, it is a 15 minute job. I will caution you that the problem here is often not the brake light switch but the 2 wire connector to it, the copper wire conductor inside the outer plastic insulator breaks, so use a 12 volt test light ($4 at Autozone) to verify that you have power into the switch, if you do check the dead wire out of the switch to make sure the conductor is intact before you replace the switch. You can easily do this by removing the connector from the switch and putting a paper clip in it to see if the brake lights come on, if they do the brake light switch is the problem, if not then go to Ford and buy a repair connector for the brake light switch. Solder the new connector on (if needed) don't use crimp connectors.

1996 Ford Explorer, stuck in park. Replaced ignition switch, selinoid, bushings... what?

The shift interlock solenoid works off of the brake lamp circuit. Check your brake lights to see if they are working. If the brake lights are not working, the most likely cause would be the brake lamp switch.

Looking for a diagram for ford explorer brakes

I'm not sure what you are looking for. Are you looking for brake line diagram? Diagram of brake assemblies? Vacumm diagram? Here's a couple, if they don't help, let me know exactly what you need.
