SOURCE: 2000 Acura RL and 2000 Acura Integra GS ABS light on

The SRS computer needs to be reset, if you dont have a repair manual i would first suggest finding one for each car. The basic principal is that you jumper the diagnostic plug (under the glove box in the RL). The next step I believe is that you must depress the TCS button, then while holding it down you turn the key to on, continue to hold the TCS button for 15 sec and then let off. The check engine light should then blink really quick a few times and that means its reset. Im reciting this from memory so dont quote me on it. I have done it before for the RL but not the integra, id really suggest finding a repair manual though.

Yes it is true. It's more like a ring with gear teeth on them. In most cars it's mounted to the hubs which would include the bearings of the car. If your car has traction control you would then have wheels sensors one for each wheel. ABS is a different system. This uses sensors to monitor wheel spin when breaking.

2005 dodge magnium sxt abs ebs light is on and coding to a right rear speed sensor and it was just changed. didn't fix the problem

Broken wire...Usually happens around the sensor, but could be anywhere from the rear sensor to the abs module. Just a note. Most wire breaks are just behind the plug. Within 1/2 inch.. Of the sensors.

I have a 97 Acura RL,engine light stays on even after O2 sensor is disconnected.I've changed out plugs& checked omhs on coils.Did a compression check on cylinders, 50-80.Do have oil on plugs,

To review, the check engine light will stay on until the problem is fixed and the code or codes are erased. And if the O2 sensor is disconnected the light will stay on for sure.
Do you have the trouble codes stored in the computer ?
FYI - the cylinders should have over 100psi of compression.

Disconnect negative wire to battery for 5 minutes, reconnect wire. Drive, park vehicle 3 times 5 - 8 miles each time to reset codes also. Many auto parts stores wil test OBD II codes and rest for free.

How do you change the passenger side abs sensor on a 97 jeep grand cherokee. I have a new sensor and would like to know what all has to be taken apart to replace it on the rear wheel.

The only things you have to take off is the tire and the brake drum, which comes off just by pulling it off, it may need a some effort, if too tight, hit it a couple of times with a hammer, (not too hard) to loosen it up.

The sensor is bolted to the backing plate in front of a toothed wheel which is part of the axle shaft, right behind the wheel studs.

Note the position of old sensor and install new one in same place.

All the hubs on the car have the abs sensor built into the hub. The abs system has to be re set to read the sensor . The rear hub bearing if noisy should be replaced. There are wiring harnesses that connect to the abs sensor. The harnesses to each of the abs sensor should be replaced.
