SOURCE: where do i put oil in my 1978 Chevy C10 pickup

If there's no oil cap directly on one of the valve covers (it may have a breather hose attached which connects to the breather element in the breather pan), then some models require adding oil through the dipstick. If this is the case, there should be a cap type dipstick instead of the standard "hook". There are 6 different motors (8 including variations) for your truck so no manual has the exact location of the oil cap. Best of luck and hope I answered your question.

SOURCE: the truck will start up but will not stay running,

it does sound like something is wrong with the fuel. Its not getting enough fuel supply to run the engine. Out board motors have the same problem all the time ;). Check your fuel hoses and or fuel tank for any blockage? Its hard to diagnose the problem without hearing or seeing whats happening so more info would be great.

Head gasket been change but it wont start

Check the vacume hoses. Make sure you assembled all hoses back to how they were. I'm guessing where the air filter is located. More detail from what you are experiencing will get you more advice. Such as if the engine turns over or if you hear a taping noise when you attempt to start it. Most vehicles, to get to a head gasket, a lot of other components have to be removed. Make sure everything is back in place. Good Luck.

I changed my Tranmission fluid on my 1984 Chevy c10 and gasket, filter now I'm trying to figure how many Qts of transmission fluid do I put back in.

It depends on which transmission you have in the truck but between 3.5 litres and 4.7 litres. Pick up 4 or 5 litres, add 3 and check the fluid level. Go from there. Before you check the level run the truck through all the gears slowly down to 1 and back to Park. Leave it in each gear a few seconds. Top it up and repeat until it's full. Hope this helps.
