SOURCE: timming setting for a 1968

Factory setting was 2 degrees advanced, but most ran far better at 4-6 degrees. Limit on timing is how far you can go without hearing any detonation when you "get on it" under a load. When you reach that point, back off a few degrees. Advancing the timing lights the fuel in the cylinders early. At speed, the time it has to fully burn is very short. The sooner you light it, the better the chance that all fuel is converted into usable energy instead of going out the exhaust. The limiting factor in this is fuel quality as most available fuels are nowhere near the quality they were when your engine was produced.

Where is the ignition module at on my 1987 plymouth gran fury which is a 318 automatic?

On The late 80's gran fury The ignition module was part of the computer that is attchced to the air cleaner. I have seen them on some of the very early 80 cars and they were on the passenger inner fender under the hood. But if you have a big black box on your air cleaner with a bunch of wires going to it it was part of that. Hope this helps.

1rst make sure its the right shock you can measure it against the old one if it is the same size you may have to pry down on the lower control arm to get the required clearance that you need hope this helps you.

Torsion bar install on 1966 valiant

The torsion bar itself does not have to be indexed,it can be installed in any way,but the end that contains the adjuster has to be positioned in the correct way to attain full adjustment, and correct ride height. The best way to do this is to look and study carefully before removal,so that everything is reinstalled as it was.If that wasn't done in the beginning before removal,it's still ok as the torsion bars can be removed and replaced, trial and error style, until it's right. The thing that changes where the ride height is,is WHERE the adjuster end is,when the torsion bar is fitted to it.I have a 73 Plymouth with torsion bars,so i know what you are going through.Just position both adjuster ends about level when engaging the torsion bars into them. They should slip in relatively easy unless rusted up badly. It is ok to use some grease too,to allow easier install.Their is also a tool available that grasps the torsion bar to assist in removal or install. After install, make sure to replace the retainer clips back in to secure the bars.
