Question about Chrysler 300C
I have replaced the Battery 3 times through Chrysler dealership, but the last 2 batteries have been replaced in the last 2 months ,but almost every day i come outside and have to use my starter pack to jump start the car. I have sat in the car with the doors locked and can hear the fan in the radio continue to make a loud noise like it is still on but sometimes this is first thing in the morning when it hasn't even been on all night. I recently pulled off the radio bezel and touched the top and back of the radio with my hands and they were red hot but the car was shut off. I disconnected the radio and now in the mornings the car starts fine and is holding charge. Is there a module that shuts down radio when car is locked or do i have other issues?? please!!
You have something stuck on and is draining your battery. This is more common these days as more and more electronics are not shut off when the key is turned off. This requires load testing of the systems. You have to have a DC clamp on load meter and a fuse jumper. A fuse jumper has leads that fit into the fuse in the fuse block and has a fuse holder and two short lengths of wire to the connector. The clamp on DC ammeter allows you to read the DC load without having to put a meter inline with the fuse (most cannot handle over 10 amp inline but can handle 400 amp via a clamp). By moving the fuse jumper from fuse position to position, you should be able to find the source of the drain. DC clamp on current meters cost about $100 at places like Home Depot and Lowe's. You can make you own fuse jumper from parts at Autozone or online sources and a bit of soldering. Find a good auto electric repair shop. They can find this problem for you faster than a dealership can.

SOURCE: Factory Stereo Drains Battery
I have had this problem with a few of my cars and I thought the same that my battery was gettin drained by the stereo but really my battery was going bad hich resulted in the radio staying on for some odd reason, but i replaced the battery and all is good with no more problems, so I would take my battery down and have it tested.

Unit has a draw somewhere that needs to be addressed. I have found the auto starts sometimes can cause this. But if the draw is through the negative side it could be tough. You should take it to the dealer and have them perform a draw test on the entire vehicle.

bad alternator possible or bad battery..even though its new that battery can be bad. I would take a volt meter and with the engine running check the volts of the battery..If the volts are 12 you need to replace alternator, if volts are 14 you need to check the battery. to check the battery hold the volt meter to the battery and have someone start the car..while the starter is cranking battery volts should not drop below 10volts.if they do your battery is bad.

SOURCE: battery died for no reason
About the only thing you can do is disconnect the battery and connect them again after 5 minutes. If that do not work check for blown fuse. Other than that then the XM radio has been damaged by the charger.

Its you antenna module above your headliner. It controlls your remote for keyless entry as well as your am/fm reception via an amplifier. GM part number is 12233252 for updated and revised version around $100 bucks online.
