Hi:
I am pretty sure that fault code P0698 is for your throttle position sensor, or accelerator position sensor. Often, as this fails, you can clear the code, and it will come back on during throttle movement.

I just ran into a 2002 Discovery doing the same thing. What ended up being the fix was a cam sensor and crank sensor. That is about all I can say without more information. Hope this helps and best of luck.

In this year the most common reason is a defective crankshaft position sensor, but you really need the OBD2 engine control fault codes read to confirm this fault is present. This OBD2 fault code test can be run for free by any Autozone or other chain auto parts store.

Any way to test crankshaft sensor on 01 Ram 1500 6cyl 3.9L? Would it cause truck to die on highway and not start back up?

You can't test it directly, you need a scanner to watch the signal to see if it cuts out, this happens when the engine is hot in most cases, after it cools it will sometimes restart. It will also set a fault code in the computer, have you run a fault code test?

Daewoo Matiz cranks but does not start

Does your your alarm ligth stay on when switch car on? If it does then ther is a problem with your car alarm system.

Under your stearing rack is a white box. Take it to your local car alarm dealer to get new car ship and get new ship melted in your key.
