I think its you alternator, the battery and alternator kind of work back to back with each other. I will take the car to shop that you know and can trust and have them diagnose the car all together. Good Luck.

check to see if the electric fan is coming on when it should. Also check coolant level. Also, you may have the beginning of a plugged radiator If all else is OK flush radiator out.

Your problem may be a faulty (shorted) ignition coil housing assembly (the white plastic cover housing the coils its bolted to the aluminum cover) change that along with the spark plug boots ( the boots are optional but I recommend it) that should get your Grand Prix running smooth. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help

Possibly shift interlock problem check the btsi fuse in the instrument fuse panel. There is a shift lock actuator in the column or center console that could be your culprit depending on if you have a column or floor shifter.

your engine needs to re-learn its idle parameters. disconnect your battery for a minute or two, then reconnect and start vehicle and apply park brake and put it in drive. let it run for 10mins then shut it down and wait another minute and start it again and let run 5 mins. that should do it.

I don't won't to get to technical on you, doing voltage drop testing on the circuit . If not relay the compressor clutch coil could be going bad when heating up . you only need to change this if it stops working or one set of the coils stops or causes a firing problem.also keep in mind that if a complete coil stops working it could be the ignition module causing the problem

To reset "CHANGE OIL" light, turn the ignition switch to the run position without starting the engine. Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. and wait for the light to flash. Check your manual it maybe slightly different. Real easy fix.

provided you don't have a vacuum leak, (check all hoses for tightness and cracks with engine running) it's probably your idle air control valve or sensor.

What's going on?

Might not be because of the theft. Check your Ignition coil at a service center. If the coil voltage drops a little after warmup the coil is bad. Can happen on brand new coils also.
