This is most likely due to a bad solenoid pack in transmission. You could have tranny serviced and see if it helps. Poor fluid condition makes valves stick in those.

SOURCE: 2003 Pontiac Vibe GT. Takes for ever to fill the

i think there may be a kink or pinch in the hose connecting the gas tank to the filler cap assembly. you will want to get under your car right under the gas cap door where you would fill up and check the hoses mainly the large one while not ignoring the smaller one which is for ventilation of your gas tank and just make sure that those hoses are not too long causing the hose to crimp somewhere in the middle obstructing the flow of gas to the tank. hope this helps. goodluck!

evap sensor won't go off ? Do you mean the check engine light ? What DTC - diagnostic trouble code ? fuel leveler system done ,your funny ! Fuel gauge sending unit of fuel pump ? With the fuel nozzle shutting off like that, the air in the tank is causing that , which means there is a problem with the Evap vent solenoid or wiring to the vent solenoid . I have trouble filling gas tank on my 13 F-250 pump shuts off takes forever to fill. What might cause this?

The system not venting properly is usually the most common source of this issue. Check filler tube/vent tube for any restrictions. Also try keeping pump nozzle part way out of filler tube.If no restrictions found, possible defective tank vent valve on top of tank. Tank will usually have to be removed to access this valve

I have to hold the gas pump to put gas in my car. Is there air in the tank?

You have an EVAP System Malfunction that will
not allow you to fill the gas tank

There are several electrical solenoid type
valves in the system, one has failed

When you fill your tank all air is recovered by
the hose your using to fill it & put back in the
ground storage tank, not into the air

The failed vent valve in the EVAP System prevent
air out

P0446 code came up. Car runs fine. I will tell you that filling it with gas is a major pain. Cant get more than about $6 to $7 dollars in gas before the fill tube fills up and makes the gas pump click off....

Hello: This code indicates a problem with the evap system vent valve. A stuck closed vent valve will affect the fueling, if air can,t get out of the tank while fueling you will have a hard time filling the tank. You didn't say what year/model you have so the valve may be near the fuel tank or inside the tank. This problem should not affect fuel mileage.

Gasoline pump at gas station keeps turning off

There is a vent valve located near the fuel tank. The vent valve is part of the EVAP emission system. If the valve is obstructed or failed, air will not escape while refueling.
Has the service engine light come on at all?

Having trouble pumping gas into 2005 hyundai elantra

You have a blocked or restricted evaporative cannister or vent valve or both. When you fill the tank with gas, the air is expelled through a line attatched to the emissions cannister and then through another line to the vent valve. If these are restricted or damaged, this could cause your symptoms. Usually you can still fill the tank very slowly though. Usually, the canister ges saturated from gas from overfilling (topping off).
The fix is to replace the EVAP canister.
