Is there a fuse for the cruise control?

Most cruise controls are vacuum actuated. check for vacuum leaks. This also occurs at the brake petal where cruise is disengaged, check for proper adjustment on the cruise switch.

Where Do The Vacuum Lines Hook Up At?

Engine vacuum is created in the intake manifold, so that is where all vacuum lines originate. There are many applications for vacuum, a few are for emissions, others for the brake booster, cruise control, A/C-heater assembly, and so on. You would need a diagram of the vacuum lines for your vehicle to sort them all out. Look for a sticker under the hood, most cars show a diagram.

The cruise control light comes on but it does not engage. It's a 1995 pathfinder.

If your light comes on but the cruise control does not engage you may have a vacuum leak some where. When you set your cruise control your vehicle uses vacuum to maintain speed and if you have a vacuum leak this can not happen. Try checking all of your vacuum lines. I hope this helps.

The cruise control in my 1989 305 v-8 pontiac firebird doesn't stay engaged. it will hold cruise , but after a few miles , it disengages.

The older vehicles used vacuum to control the Cruise. Check for a leak in the vacuum system. Using a can of starting fluid, spray the vacuum lines and fittings lightly. If the engine revs up after a spray, it'e most likely the leak.

The cruise control on my 2001 just quit working i have checked the fuses and all are ok while driving i can engage the criuse control and the cruise light comes on for an instant almost like a flash any...

A vehicle speed sensor provides a signal for the cruise control and also for the ABS braking and the overdrive function. I would start with finding the fuse for the cruise control in your owners manual. Also some cruise controls have vacuum lines attached, if so, check for cracked or broken vacuum lines. Good luck.

Having problems with cruise control need to know how to fix

check all the vacuum lines to the cruise servo under the hood, pay close attention to the one that goes from the servo cruise actuator to the brake pedal cruise control vacuum cut out switch through the firewall, they are often rotten from fuel vapor, if that hose is leaking the cruise will not engage

well the first thing is to check all your fuses, then i would take a look under the hood for any broken or disconnected vacuum lines, this is what i would check first, hope this is helpful.

Cruise control will not engage

You will see 2 cables going to the carburetor. One will be the throttle cable and the other is the cruise. Follow the cruise cable back to the vacuum pod and you should see the vacuum lines feeding the pod. You can remove the line at the pod and place another line in that sprout and **** on the hose. If the pod contracts its good, if you **** air the pod has a hole and it is defective.
If the pod is not defective remove the vacuum line feeding the pod and check for holes.

Heat and cruise control issues

Your idea sounds reasonable...what you need to do is see if vacuum is present under the dash (check any vecuum motor you can reach easily for vacuum) and, check under hood for vacuum hook-up at manifold, tracing it back to firewall. follow any "t's" in line to their destination to ensure they are plugged in also. Plastic lines used today are nice because they don't rot, but they can break when cold. You can "sleeve" any breaks with a small piece of rubber line.
If a shop did this work, why are they not involved...they got paid right?,
