I have a 2004 Toyota highlander leaking oil, oil light comes on. Could it be the rubber rings?

a 2004 toyota highlander V6

this should be your engine type
The 2GR-FE is a 3.5 L (3456 cc)

if leaks are that bad
always check the engine oil level before you drive off

fixing oil leaks on motors
degrease whole motor top and bottom

start with replacing the oil sender it may be the cause of the oil light coming on
after degrease
lay cardboard or paper under the car
take out for a drive and park over the paper over night

this pin points most of the oil leak locations
leaks from a V6 motor
rocker covers/ spark plug tube 0 rings.engine seals
cam seals
front and rear engine seals leak often
sump gasket can leak

if oil consumption or light on continues
can be a failing engine oil pump
or worn main bearings giving low oil pressure to the whole engine
you could be burning oil from worn piston rings
or hardened valve stems

a mechanic can fit an oil pressure gauge to the motor when hot
to check running oil pressure to confirm low oil pressure

if engine is worn out

it is possible to fit a lower mileage used motor to your highlander
its often cheaper than and engine rebuild

I have a2001 holden astra 4 cylinder 1.8 litre can i remove the oil pan without taking the motor out

If had someone replace the seals you should take it back to them and let them fix it.
You can remove the oil pan without taking the motor out, but it's a LOT easier to work on if you do. You will probably take 3 times longer by trying to leave it in the car vs. taking the motor out.

How to find and repair oil leaks in front of motor?

Ok ralph first off clean motor with engine brite found at any auto parts stores
next recommendation add oil base dye to motor oil allow to run for 30 min to circulate dye useing a uv lamp or black light and inspect front cover most cases the front seal is themost likely source of leaks due to contant revolutions on front main seal
in order to repar suspected seal total dissasembly of timing cover will have to be removed in some models the front main bearing journal will have to be removed as well.
upon removal of timing coverbinspect front mail seal race / face for burnishing of the crank seal face. Dirt an debri cut into the crank
you will have to order the front seal repair kit
consists of front seal and stainless steel wear ring wich is glued in with epoxcy
reassemble front timing cover gaskets an sealer may be needed once all the parts are reassembled run for 15 m7n an check for leaks
its also possible that the oil pan gasket could be leaking as well
install dye to find leak is the best course of action first

OIL LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON?

See my answer to your related/same question which I include again for your reference:
You must immediately check your engine oil level and take appropriate action: unless you have a defective oil pressure sensor, oil pressure light usually indicates that your engine oil is not flowing properly. Some possible issues: low oil level (leaking engine?), blocked oil filter (when did you last get your car service) or defective or blocked oil pump due to excessive dirty engine oil.
Also check under your car to see if you have any oil leaks: this usually indicate that you have defective engine gaskets or oil seals causing your oil (pressure) warning light to come on.
Hope it is of assistance. But I would consult a motor mechanic asap as you engine could soon fail due to the lack adequate oil lubrication.

Oil leak

There is a timing cover gasket behind the water pump.
You may have to clean off the block to find the leak. Mechanics can use dye in the oil and a black light.

My 88 dodge dakota has a leak between the engine and the transmission. What could the problem be and how can I fix it?

If it is motor oil, it should match the oil on the dipstick.
If it is automatic transmission fluid, it should be sort of redish and match your "tranny" fluid on that dipstick.
If it is thicker than motor oil, it should be manual transmission oil.
Motor oil leaks from the "rear main seal".
Transmission fluid or gear oil leak from the front transmission seal.
All 3 of these can look like they are coming from about the same place, where you have said.
All three of these require you separate the motor and transmission to fix them, and that means taking the transmission out of your truck.
Pretty expensive if you pay to have it done.
If you take the " tranny" out, most shops will replace both seals (one front, engine and one rear, tranny)
Depending on how much it is leaking and other things, lots of people let it leak.
If you are using a lot of fluid, perhaps it\'s time to think about repairs.
Be blessed

1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera leaks oil on back side of motor. Where are the possible locations of this leak?

that all depends on how high the leak comes from, it could be from the intake manifold gasket if its high up on the motor,, a little lower would be around the bearing seals , and lower yet could be the pan gaskets ,, keep in mind that a lot of wind is generated when the motor is running at high speed, and a leak from the front of the motor could be blown to the back very easily.

Bad oil leak using 1 qt. every 150 miles no excessive amount of oil seen in engine compartment for that amount of leakage. oil is around front of motor.

sounds like a front seal. it is 13 years old and they do go bad. take a search on youtube or buy a repair manual on eBay and decide if you want to take on the job. if not you will have to pay someone to replace it as it will not just go away. it is a toyota so should be good for a quarter million miles assuming all the owners have taken good care of it. if you are past that mileage you may want to consider a rebuilt engine swap instead of replacing one seal.
