I have removed the entire assembly before and it wasn't very difficult. From memory there are a few screws to undo and then the whole assembly slides out. I found the directions in the manual in the section on replacing headlight globes.
I just want you to know that you are not crazy or blind!
The reason you cannot find any screws is because you are dealing with a snap-together vehicle. If you only want to replace the bulb, you can reach around the radiator support and twist the bulb retainer to remove it and the bulb. If you are wanting to replace the ENTIRE headlamp assembly, follow the instructions below.
Grasp lower edge of headlamp lens and pull straight back (away) from Grille Opening Reinforcement (GOR) . Disengage lower adjuster pivots from lens assembly. Grasp upper edge of headlamp lens. Pull straight back (away) from grille opening reinforcement (GOR). Disengage upper adjuster pivot from lens assembly. Rotate bulb lock ring counter clockwise. and remove ring and bulb from lens. INSTALLATION
Replace by seating the assembly in the lamp housing and turning the lock ring 1/8 turn clockwise to secure. Align upper adjust pivot into headlamp opening and snap into place. Snap lower adjuster pivots into place.
There are two types of overhead consolse on this truck. One has a storage compartment connected to the map light section, and one with a seperate removable section behind the map lights that has a lever on both sides that can be pulled down. If you have the levers, pull them both down at once and pull the section off the rail. Then insert a screw driver between the rail and the map light assembly at the rear, and gently pry down. If you don't have the side levers, insert a screw driver at the rear of the assembly and gently pry down the entire section. Once removed, press the tab down on the power connector for the wiring harness (white connector whth four wires) remove it, and remove the assembly. You will see two black connectors that hold the bulbs. Remove them by twising counter clockwise, and pull out the bulbs. Replace them with the 900 series bulb, or LED bulbs. Once the bulbs are back in place, reconnect the power connector, and gently tap the assembly back in place with the palm of your hand to reseat the clips. Caution!, test the bulbs before you put the assembly back in place. LEDs are polarity sensitive.
To replace the headlight bulbs. You need to remove the head light assembly out.The head light assembly is held by 2 to 3 three screws on each side. You need to remove those screws first. The front trim will get loose, the front trim is held by pins. The pins are of plastic and easy to release.Just release this pins and the front trim will get completely loose and can be easily taken off/.
The head light assembly is in the front fender.Once the front trim is removed the head light assembly can be easily removed from front fender compartment. If its bit tight there, then you can use a screwdriver to give it a pull towards out.The head light bulbs can now be easily seen as well as easily removed now.Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove the bulb from the bulb assembly.--------Keep updated for any more queries.Thanks.
you need to remove the grill, a small flat head screw driver will do the trick, you will need to push down on the clips under the hood and pull lightly from the head light assembly and grill just comes off. Then you will need to pull up the two clips on the top corners of the head light assembly. this will free up the assembly this way you can easily remove the bulb and replace it.
There is one bolt on top of the radiator support and another in back. The assy fits into a pluug that keeps it aligned so it cam be tough to remove. Just wiggle it side to side while pulling and it'll slowly come out.
Are you looking to fix the bulb that is in the corner of the headlamp? You don't need to remove the head light for that. The is a black cap that screws off just beind it.
There is a single screw that hold the position light assembly. This screw is located near the corner of the headlamp, on top, very close to the fender metal. Unscrew (phillips head) it and pry out (to the front) the position light assembly. Then you can change the bulb. Put back in reverse order.
