Question about Ford F-150
I have a 09 Ford F150 with sync. I am wanting to upgrade my 6 disc CD player to an OEM factory NAV system. I bought the bezel and head unit and it seems straight forward with the plug-ins. However I have found adapter kits that are aftermarket which are supposedly needed to integrate such an upgrade. Also I am needing the GPS antenna. From exploded diagrams I have seen, it looks like Ford uses aerial antennas via lengthy wiring harnesses leading to the exterior top of the body. I had seen aftermarket antennas that plug into the back and magnetize to the unit itself, tucked into the dash. My question is can I successfully get the NAV system working without costly integration kits, and can I use an aftermarket GPS antenna? Perhaps Ford has a GPS antenna I don't know about.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: FM/AM reception problem
It should- that splitter is generally used for factory telephone reception and also there is an antenna located in the rear window glass. It will work for radio reception but it will interfer with your phone if you have a phone installed. just make sure you have a good antenna ground. Try removing the grond and sanding the metal so that there is no paint or oxidation that causes higher resistance. This generally affects a.m. reception.
