Since you didn't list the type of car you have, there is no way I can tell you where your FPR is, since there are hundreds of places it could be. As far as ignition (spark), You will get spark no matter what condition your FPR is in.
I would contact the BBB about the AAA shop. They were taking advantage of you not to mention they did not warranty there work. Plus if they changed the pump they were the ones that left the clamp loose. In the future you should just take it to the shop you know and trust even if it cost you a little to have it towed there, it will be less than getting taken advantage of. It hard to find a good honest shop and it sounds like you have one so give them the business they deserve it.
