Chrysler town and country cranks will not start

Turns over, won't start. Has Air, Fuel, and Spark.

Check for injector pulsation with a noid light if it dosnt puls suspect pcm but check all fuses first there is one for injectors

  1. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
  2. Raise the vehicle and support the fuel tank with a transmission jack.
    • Fuel line from the front of the tank
    • Ground strap
    • Inboard side of the fuel tank straps and front T strap fastener and lower the tank about 6 inches
    • Fuel lines from the fuel pump module
    • Fuel filter
  3. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the fuel filter bolts to 40 inch lbs. (4.5 Nm), the main tank straps to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm) and the T strap to 250 inch lbs. (28 Nm).
  4. Start the engine and check for leaks.

Ok, i'm assuming your replacing them, there is an oval rubber stopper on the backside of the rotor, in the backing plate, located near the bottom. it will tighten or loosen the e-brake shoes inside the rotor, loosen them all the way off, then get a big hammer and give them a really good smack, be carefull not to damage the wheel studs, if your reusing them hit on the hat of the rotor, if replacing you can hit right on the rotor face.
Use some antiseize on the hub before installin your new rotors, and don't forget to readjust your
e-brake and reinstall the rubber plug

the relay is located in the power distribution box under the hood the relay will be a square black or gray cube just pull out and make sure you rerplace it with the same type relay. refer to your owners manual for any questions regarding the fuses and relays

The crank shaft sensor on that model should be on the driver side towards the back of the tranny its not hard to get to.

TESTING OF CRANK SENSOR

  1. Use the fluke meter.
  2. Unplug the sensor, and backprobe the connector.
  3. Theres 3 slots, you want A and B on the connector going TO the sensor- not TO the engine.

Normal resistance is 200ohms, +/- 75ohms.
275ohms to 125ohms...any higher or lower and it is recommended for replacement.


MAP SENSOR TEST

  1. Disconnect at sensor, key on.
  2. Voltage from terminal A to terminal C =4.5 to 5 volts.
  3. Reconnect, and backprobe sensor at B= 4.5 to 5 volts.
  4. Start engine, backprobe sensor at B -AFTER idle stabilizes-- .5 to 1.5 volts.

2003 Chrysler town & country limited


First try and change the fuel filter. this also happened on a van i worked on. I cahnged the filter and it runs fine now.

I have a Chrysler 2003 mini van town and country, with 74,000 miles.Since when it was at 70,000, it started stopping at every stop signal,in slow motion when the engine is started. I got changed the fuel...


This happened to me. The valve that controls the air intake gets stuck which stalls the motor. I removed the air intake hose and wiped it clean using Acetone (nail polish remover). Its been running perfectly ever since....

1999 chrysler town and country


Start with the simple fixes first; Try a new fuel filter. Then a new pcv valve. Both are very cheap & you can probably install them yourself.
