I know what the problem is, what I want know how to replaced the hoses on a 1997 ford explorer accumulator. All hoses and connections.

Napa in my area can make a/c hoses if you cant get them,have the charge vacced out first

are you talking about the accumulator or the orfice tube the accumulator is on the fire wall big hose attached to it usaly silver in color the orfice tube on the liqud line small hose in diameter usaly has to crimps on it.

Are you aware? you have the key and tumbler and another part under the dash on the steering column called the ingition switch.
They both have to be aligned in sync to operate properly.
Question? is this a tilt steering wheel,if it is and you dont know anything about it I suggest you get a professionel to do this kind of job.
You really have to know what your doing for this one.

the module is located behind the dash just to the left of the radio. remove the two screws below the radio and the dash panel snaps out and you can access the module

NO you dont have to take the intake off it should be right on the fuel rail with either 1 or 3 bolts if i remember right it will be the only thing on the rail with a vacuum hose on it.

P1405-Differential Pressure Feedback Electronic (DPFE) sensor upstream hose off or plugged - or cracked.

I believe it is on the driver's side of engine about half-way down. also, check all other hoses for damage
