Question about Toyota Corolla
I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla. A few months ago my radio stopped working, then last month when I turned on my left blinker it would blink really fast. Then last week I got a car wash and when I pulled out of the parking lot my blinkers would not work and the indicator will not work either. But the Hazard lights do work. I'm just asking if you think there might be an electrical issue? Or do you think it's a simple fix. Thank you
Rule 1: check fuses first.
100% sure, , as it is 100% electrical, those lights and radio.
the combo switch is just that with an electric switch.
since the HAz works, that means the wiring and lamps are all good.
so must be a comb switch issue or just a simple loose fuse.
or in some cases the fuse is intermittent.
the FSM , shows the schematics and how to diagnose it.
using only a cheap $10 meter, like you see at walfart.
the auto cancel on most cars are mechanical.
simple or hard,? well who knows, with fate or entropy. but
the air bags need to be defeated working near dash.
the system is very simple, back when.
haz and turn (I'm looking at schematic now)
same blinker flasher, so not that.
same lamps, and wires to same.
but the blinker has its own fuse marked. TURN
the haz has its own switch and FUSE.
the blinker switch is seperate
so the TURn fuse bad, or loose. (some look good and are NOT)
or the turn combo switch (in hand) is bad. or wires to it loose.
just becareful fiddling near driver air bag, treat it like a shot gun shell.
most the yellow wires are air bags and dont touch them. dont even
flex them, the FSM covers defeating air bags for service.
i will quote toy now.
To avoid personal injury when working on vehicles equipped with an air bag, the negative battery cable must be disconnected and at least 90 seconds must elapse before working on the system. Failure to do so may result in deployment of the air bag. (unquote)

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

If new bulbs don't work, it is probably the harness that holds the bulb. I had to replace both on my car after fighting with the problem for over a year and not knowing.
