Open Question

I have a 2004 DT466 that wont start. Yellow engine light on . No faults. What else could this be?

Changed the IPR valve.

sounds like the timing belt it has a interference engine so if the timing belt broke you could have bent rods and cracked pistons or worse. good luck

Sounds like a faulty crank sensor. Can also be caused by a faulty cam sensor.

You need to sort out the yellow light which could be either fluid level or wear on the brake blocks or pads. The parking brake should operate on a cable that can be adjusted to release, or you need to release the brake fluid by turning the bleeding nipple.

Hi, in the morning my truck does not crank and when I spray the quick start my engine cranks one shot. During the day I don't have that problem.


Sounds like air getting into your system. Did you use new seals on rebuild ? Try tightening any loosened parts just in case

Truck wont start


A defective EGR will never cause a no start, rough idle yes, check engine light yes. Who told you this would cause a no start and what fault codes did you have?

I have a 2004 Buick Rainier with a V8 engine AWD,I got a CARMD CODE READER which is displaying a code C/EV/OOH what do these codes means because my reader will not list the problem when a yellow light


Not really possible as you need the alternator spinning to test it . Best is to remove it and have it bench tested at an auto electrical shop. Code p0446 is the canister purge valve solenoid fault.

F350 super duty, after running for an hour wont restart for a couple hours runs fine once you getted started


sounds like ipr valve
located under turbo 2 wire 1 conectorwire clip on
1 3/8 wrench to removed after turbo and air system been pulled off
get your new valve at your local international dealer
ask for ipr valve for vt365 engine bet you it's half price and same part
make sure that screen at end of valve came out with valve use small pick hook to remove if not

2004 6.0 stop after stop sign found IGR Valve bad under tubo put new one in from dealer and still no start. Need help thanks


looks like stc fiting ic leaking at the oil injection pump
igr??? probably ipr valve same area removed cover
on right side vale cover removed icp sesor get adapter
and apply 100psi plus of air presure with igniton power
at ipr valve and look or listen for leek before removing air
power out ignition feed or it will spray back unless leek is
fairly larged

Truck not starting no problems the night before


need to monitor ipr pressure (injection oil pressure)must reach 500psi
in order to start engine
may have failled o -ring or stc fitting in injection side or possible ipr failure
valve cover right side front icp sensor removed apply 5000psi gage and
crank engine over have someone monitor and report
if this pressure is less then 500 psi it will not start removed gaged
key ignition at run apply shop air min 100 psi and listen at oil fill for gurguling oil sound
if so oil leak in hi pressure oil side

Loss of power, usually after a hard acceleration; Rough idle; Check engine light comes on, DTC P1211:
Intermittent high pressure oil leakage.
This condition usually occurs when the vehicle is cold and the oil is thick. When performing a hard acceleration, the truck suddenly looses power, the check engine light comes on, and once returning to idle the engine runs rough and won't accelerate. Cycling the key may correct the concern, clearing the code from the PCM will correct it temporarily. If you can monitor data stream, at idle the ICP pressure normally is 400-700 PSI and the IPR duty cycle is 9-14%; at cruise, ICP is 700-1200 pSI and IPR is 15-20%; under normal acceleration, ICP is 1200-2000 PSI and IPR is 20-30%; and under WOT accel, the ICP is up to 3600 PSI and the IPR is 35% or higher. When the above symptom occurs, typically the idle ICP reading will be normal, but the IPR duty cycle will be high--over 20% and up to the max 50%. A "blow-by" condition has occured somewhere in the HP oil circuit. If you can get the problem to re-occur with some frequency, the most probable cause is worn or deteriorated injector or IPR o-rings. If the problem is intermittent, it could be a sticking IPR valve. Replace the injector o-rings with the latest-level kits--F8TZ-9229-AA. When replacing the IPR, make sure you get the correct part for the build date/serial number of your engine.
