Does a trottle posistion senser cause a 02 chevy cavailer to make the trac off light come on?

No ,it would make the check engine light come on ! You have a problem with the traction control which is part of the ABS - antilock brakes ! You need to take it to qualified ASE repair facility to have it check out !

SOURCE: 1997 Chevy Cavailer Heat stoped working

Check your coolant level. If it is low and there is no obvious signs of a leak do a compression check on the engine (possible blown head gasket) or the fan / thermostat is not working properly.

Tighten up your gas cap if its loose it can cause the mysterious recurring check engine light.

2005 chevy silverado abs problem light stays on


Check the fuses.I know that there was a recall for the ABS senser,but not sure what years are covered.Check with the dealer service Dept.The just clean the sensor and there is no charge.Not sure if this could cause your issue.I had this done on a 02 and a 04.They also replaced the tail gate cables for free.

Check the air flow boot from the air filter housing to the intake maniflod for cracks or loose clamps.

2004 Cavalier, Service light, ABS light, Trac Off light


It is the wheel speed sensor jumper harness more than likely on the driver side. They replaced the orginal with a newer better one but never issued a recall.
